  • Armenian lavash - 6 pcs. (you can use corn tortillas)
  • Ketchup - 2 tbsp. spoons
  • Mayonnaise - 1 tbsp. spoon
  • Pepper

Before starting cooking, I suggest preparing all the ingredients, since the frying process will take 2-3 minutes for each ingredient. Burrito is a dish for those who love creativity, so don’t limit yourself in choosing ingredients - try something new. If something is not at hand, replace it. Preparing a burrito can be divided into 2 stages: preparing the filling and directly folding the burrito envelopes.

Burrito making process

  1. Peel the onion and cut into half rings. Boiled chicken breast fillet - cubes. Sweet pepper - medium pieces. Finely chop the parsley. Tomatoes - cut into cubes. Grate the cheese. Finely chop the garlic. If the mushrooms are fresh, cut them crosswise into thin slices, but if they are canned, cut into pieces, then you don’t need to do anything.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the onion. Add finely chopped garlic and fry it all for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Add chicken, stir and fry for 2-3 minutes. It should look like a mass, like in the photo on the right 😉
  4. Add mushrooms. If you use raw champignons, increase the frying time to 5 minutes. Mix.
  5. Next, add bell peppers to brighten up our burrito filling! Fry for 2-3 minutes until the peppers become soft. Lightly salt the resulting mass and add a little black pepper.
  6. It's time to add the chopped tomatoes. Mix everything and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Next, add chopped parsley. Without greens, the burrito will not be as flavorful and beautiful! Stir and simmer a little - 2-3 minutes. That's it, the burrito filling is ready. Now comes the important part: the burrito filling.
  8. The burrito folding deserves special attention. I tried to make it as clear as possible. Unroll the pita bread (or tortilla) and put the filling in the middle, which needs to cool slightly. Cover the top with lavash and pull it to the edge. Then we wrap the edges on the right and left and fold it into an envelope. Next, wrap the entire pita bread completely. The burrito is ready. We also make all the pita breads. Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the burrito. And put it in the oven or microwave (you can use the grill function - this will make the cheese more rosy).

Take two and a half glasses of flour, a glass of hot water, 50 g of fat (butter or margarine), a teaspoon of salt. Pour two glasses of flour and salt into a deep bowl, then stir in the fat and knead it thoroughly with your hands, mixing it with the flour. Pour in a glass of hot water (not boiling water!), while stirring the dough thoroughly with a fork, transfer it to the table and continue kneading, gradually adding the remaining flour. The dough should be manageable and not very steep. Cover it with film and leave for half an hour to rest. Then knead the dough a little more and divide it into pieces the size of a tennis ball. Roll them into thin flat cakes, which we bake in a dry frying pan for about thirty seconds until brown spots appear. As they bake, stack the cakes in a mound, interspersing them with parchment sheets. Wrap the finished cakes in film to avoid drying out, then it will be easy to wrap the filling in them. Whatever burrito recipe you choose, this flatbread will go perfectly with it.

Let's make the filling!

Now let's start preparing the filling, and so that you have plenty to choose from, we will present two options.

Chicken burrito filling

You will need a couple of chicken breasts, a medium-sized onion, a glass of milk, a can of canned corn, one hundred grams of hard cheese, a tablespoon of flour, a couple of cloves of garlic, cumin, sour cream, butter and vegetable oil for frying.

Cut the chicken into cubes and the onion into rings and lightly fry them in vegetable oil. At this stage, add cumin and salt. Puree the corn, along with the juice from the can, using a blender and pour it into the frying pan. Add half a glass of milk, butter and flour. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Add garlic and simmer for another ten minutes. When the filling is ready, put it on the tortillas, sprinkle with grated cheese and wrap the tortillas on three sides. Place the burritos on a baking sheet and bake in the oven until the cheese melts.

For this filling we take four eggs, half a glass of hard cheese, ground black pepper, sour cream, olive oil, one hundred grams of green chili pepper.

Recipe 2: Mexican Turkey Burrito with Cheese

  • 200 gr. Turkey fillet
  • 2 pcs. Tortilla
  • 50 gr. Greenery
  • 80 gr. Tomato puree
  • 50 gr. Cheese
  • Pepper
  • 80 gr. Beans
  • 50 gr. Bulb
  • Chili ground

Remove the veins from the meat and cut it into small, oblong pieces.

After this, you need to fry the chicken pieces along with finely chopped garlic until the meat turns golden brown.

Once the turkey fillet reaches the desired color, you need to add red beans and chili peppers to it. You can also add some other spices, such as half a teaspoon of curry.

Add chopped bell pepper here, simmer the resulting mass for 5 minutes and add 200 grams of tomato paste.

Simmer the resulting mixture for 5-10 minutes and add finely chopped greens.

As soon as our burrito filling is ready, you need to put it on tortillas or pita bread and wrap it in the form of envelopes.

If desired, you can sprinkle the finished burritos with grated cheese and place them in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 5-7 minutes.

  • Chicken fillet - 250 g.
  • Sunflower oil - 2 tbsp.
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Ketchup “Chili” - 6 tbsp. (or to taste)
  • Canned red beans - 1 can (400 g)
  • Hard cheese - 60 g.
  • Bell pepper - 3-4 pcs.
  • Ground black pepper - to taste
  • Seasonings (curry, turmeric, paprika) - to taste

  • Parsley - 8 sprigs

Cut the chicken fillet into strips.

Place the frying pan on the fire. Pour a little vegetable oil and fry the chicken pieces on both sides. Season with salt and seasoning and black pepper. At the very end of frying, add chopped garlic.

Then we need to carefully cut the chili pepper. You should wear gloves when cutting it, as it can cause burns on the skin of your hands. Of course, we first wash all the vegetables under running water. As soon as you cut the chili pepper, you should wash the board and knife.

As soon as all the vegetables are ready, we begin to mince. You can buy it ready-made, but you can also grind the meat yourself in a meat grinder. Be sure to take meat from different animals, then you will get a delicious, juicy dish that will give you an unforgettable aroma. As soon as the minced meat is ready, put the frying pan on the fire.

As soon as the vegetable oil is hot, first lay out the minced meat itself. Then fry it until golden or just dark.

Then add onions and hot chili peppers to it. You need to use all the pepper, as this dish should be spicy, but at home you can adjust the spice.

  • Tortilla 6-8 pcs
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • Fresh spinach 2 pcs

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater; it is better to use one that melts well when heated. Add cheese to the pan and stir.

We prepare the tortillas, now we will assemble the burritos. Place 3-4 tablespoons of the prepared filling on the edge of the flatbread. And roll up the burrito as shown in the photo.
