The newborn does not sleep all day Komarovsky. What to do if a newborn baby does not sleep at night? What to do if the baby is healthy, but sleeps poorly

Not every parent can boast that the baby sleeps peacefully, does not bother with frequent nighttime awakenings and easily falls asleep during the day. What to do if the saying "Sleep like a baby" is not about your baby? Why the baby does not sleep well during the day or sleeps restlessly at night, does not sleep or sleeps little after feeding. Consider the answers!

The norm of sleep in a newborn

If a month-old baby does not sleep well during the day or at night and this worries you, it makes sense to calculate how many hours he sleeps per day. Perhaps the baby is just getting his sleep rate, and you think that he should sleep longer. Parents often think that their baby does not sleep well because he does not sleep continuously, like an adult. The periods of sleep and wakefulness in newborns are short, and this is normal.

For a child from 0 to 3 months, the sleep rate is from 16 to 20 hours a day, depending on individual characteristics, that is, he should be awake for 4-8 hours, but not continuously. If the total duration of sleep in an infant is more than 15 hours a day, there is no reason to worry that the child is not getting enough sleep. Usually newborns sleep 3-4 hours, then wake up to eat. You can suspect the presence of some problems if the child sleeps more than 5 hours in a row.

Newborn sleep cycle

Both children and adults during the day produce hormones in the body that are responsible for sleep and wakefulness, so in some periods it is easier to fall asleep, in others it is easier to wake up. For this reason, it is recommended to put the child to bed at certain hours. If the baby rises around 7 am, the best time for the first daytime sleep is 8.30 - 9 am, for the second - 12.30 - 13.00, and it is best to put him down at night in the interval from 18 to 20 hours.

In addition, the dream itself is divided into phases, in some of which it is easier to wake up, while in others it is harder. There are fast and slow phases of sleep, and the ratio of their duration in a child and an adult is different. In newborns, the fast phase accounts for up to 80% of the total sleep time, in a child of 6 months - 50%, in an adult - from 20 to 25%. During REM sleep, the brain processes new information that children constantly receive during wakefulness. During these periods, the baby is easy to wake up, but about 20 minutes after falling asleep, a deep sleep begins.

Possible Causes of Sleep Disorders in Babies

The most obvious reason is some deviations in the state of health. The baby may have a stomach ache due to colic, teething, he will not sleep well if he has a cold, he has a fever, a runny nose, and so on. If you are afraid that something is wrong with the baby, visit the pediatrician. When the cause is eliminated, restful sleep will be restored. Colic and teething will go away on their own in due time, here you just need to be patient.

The wrong routine can also lead to difficulty falling asleep and shallow, light sleep. As already mentioned, during the day at one time it is easier to fall asleep than at another.

Often a month old baby does not sleep well due to overwork.

If the baby is put to bed too late, he may have difficulty falling asleep. This is because stress releases cortisol, the stress hormone. It does not allow the child to fall asleep deeply.

Another reason is external stimuli. If in the first weeks of life, newborns can sleep in both bright light and noise, then as they grow, they begin to react more strongly to the atmosphere in which they are. Therefore, such irritants should be minimized: turn off the overhead light, remove the sound source, for example, close the window if the noise from the street interferes.

Often a newborn does not sleep because of the so-called "negative associations": if parents make too much effort to lull him, soon the newborn will forget how to fall asleep on his own. Therefore, it is not necessary to specially rock the child, give him a pacifier, additionally feed him before bedtime, put him to sleep only in a stroller or next to his mother. It is best for the baby to learn to calm down and fall asleep on its own. But this takes time.

However, this does not mean that it is not necessary to create rituals to help the child go to sleep. Simple sequences of habitual actions that do not require much effort from parents will help to calm down, move from play and active wakefulness to sleep. But breaking these rituals can also make falling asleep longer and more difficult.

Older children may already deliberately not go to bed if they are busy with something interesting. Also, the child may not sleep well due to the large number of impressions and new information received during the day.

good sleep conditions

In order for the child to sleep well, it is necessary to create suitable conditions.

  1. The room must be ventilated.
  2. There should not be both loud sounds and absolute silence.
  3. The light needs to be dimmed.
  4. The air temperature should be 20-22 C.
  5. The child should be dressed in comfortable, not too warm clothing.

What to do if a newborn does not sleep well at night?

  • In order for the child to sleep soundly at night, it is important to put him to bed as soon as you notice that the child is tired.
  • If the baby woke up at night, do not turn on bright lights.
  • Before going to bed, you can bathe the child in a bath with a decoction of soothing herbs: chamomile, hops, motherwort. Create a soothing ritual that includes bathing, massage, lullaby, and spend it at the same time.
  • In order for the baby to calm down and fall asleep faster, get a toy that will always be in his crib during sleep. Next to the familiar thing, the child will feel safe and comfortable.
  • Before going to bed, create a calming atmosphere: do not turn on loud music, TV, turn down the light.

The reason for a poor night's sleep can also be a long daytime sleep, when the baby "confuses day with night." Then you will have to gradually change his regimen, wake him up to reduce the time of daytime sleep, play more with him. Normally, if the intervals of daytime sleep are 2-3 hours, this should be guided by.

Newly-made parents have to deal with the problem when a newborn child does not sleep well at night, often wakes up or cries. Such behavior has a bad effect on the underdeveloped nervous system and leads to adverse consequences. It is necessary to identify the causes and get rid of them.

Why does a newborn sleep poorly and cry?

A newborn sleeps 16-18 hours a day. Awakening comes not only for eating. During the waking period, he is interested in a new world for him. This is standard infant behavior. It is worth worrying if the baby sleeps less than the daily norm, if he cannot fall asleep for a long time, up to 5 hours, or often wakes up - 7-10 minutes after falling asleep. All this leads to the fact that the newborn baby does not sleep well and cries.

Reasons when a newborn baby does not sleep well:

If the room is hot, then the baby's body temperature rises, the cheeks become pink. Clothing must be appropriate for the temperature. You should not wrap up in several diapers or wear a lot of clothes on a child, and he will freeze naked when he is naked. It is necessary to observe the golden mean - dress like yourself plus a blouse or diaper on top.

There are many reasons for violations. Timely detected cause can be identified and eliminated.

Why do newborns sleep poorly at night?

Young children do not sleep well at night for the same reasons as during the day. But daytime sleep is different from sleep at night. Therefore, the reasons for additional experiences are added.

Why does a newborn baby sleep poorly at night and what to do about it:

Mode. It doesn't matter to a child when to sleep. The biological clock develops over time. If a newborn wakes up at night, he feels hungry. In the absence of deviations at the end of the meal or in the process, he will immediately fall asleep.

A newborn can confuse day with night. To restore the duration of night sleep, you need to reduce daytime sleep - wake up more often during the day. It will take several days to rebuild the body.

It is advisable to put the child to bed at the same time. Before going to bed, do a soothing massage, bathe in water with relaxing herbs, sing lullabies at night or read. The kid will be accustomed to certain actions. Thus, a regime is developed. Going to bed will be easier.

Air in the room. Lack of fresh air or heat. Before you put the baby in the crib, it is worth ventilating the room.

The lack of moist air is a fairly common reason that a newborn does not sleep well at night. The child just wants to drink. To quench your thirst, you can give some water or fore milk from your mother's breasts.

Darkness. The baby is afraid of the dark. To eliminate fear, you can leave the lights on in the corridor at night or use a night lamp with a dim light. It will also be convenient for mom to feed or change diapers.

Overexcitation. Shortly before bedtime, it is forbidden to play active games with the child. If there are guests in the house, then communication with them will not be conducive to deep sleep and quick sleep.

The child feels comfortable and protected in close quarters. A spacious bed gives a feeling of fear and insecurity.

Teeth cutting. The child sleeps little at night and often cries from constantly aching gums. To relieve pain, you need to smear the gums with a special gel (available at the pharmacy), give an antipyretic. During the day, give biting toys designed for such occasions and teethers.

Absence of mother. Co-sleeping is the best way out. Close to the mother, the newborn sleeps longer and stronger, feeding is much easier - no need to get up. If the baby sleeps separately in his own bed, it is advisable to place it next to the mother's bed. If the child wakes up, the mother will be able to caress, gently talk to him.

Trembling, wiggling. During sleep, the baby may shudder or move his arms and legs, thereby waking himself up. To avoid this, you can swaddle a newborn or use a diaper - a cocoon. In such a diaper, the child can move his arms, legs and not wake himself up, as the tightness of the diaper resembles the days in his mother's stomach.

Newborn babies need a lot of sleep! A healthy baby of the first month of life sleeps 15-18 hours a day. Of these, 8-10 hours at night and 6-9 hours during the day. At the same time, a breastfed newborn eats every 1.5 hours during the day and at least 4-5 hours at night. But often mothers complain that the child does not sleep at all. They talk about the fact that their baby is awake for 4 hours or even 5 hours in a row. Could this be, why and why such a long waking time is bad, we will tell in this article.

Your baby does not sleep for 5 hours in a row during the day. What could be the reasons:

  1. He's overtired. Perhaps he experienced many new experiences and his nervous system became so overexcited that it became difficult for him to fall asleep. Vivid impressions can be both positive, fun events (shopping center, concert, birthday), and situations such as going to the clinic, a trip to the subway. For a one-month-old baby, each such situation is a lot of new sensory impressions - noise, voices, movement, light. The nervous system may simply not withstand an overabundance of information, and due to stress, the child may
  1. The kid got sick. High fever, itching, nasal congestion prevent the baby from falling asleep calmly and comfortably and sleeping without waking up. In this case, the newborn may want to, but not be able to fall asleep and continue sleeping.
  1. Mother's condition. Stress, which is transmitted to the baby - under the influence of cortisol, he can be overtired and not fall asleep for a long time.

Features of the mother's diet (medications, alcohol, nicotine, coffee) can affect the baby's sleep, making him more restless or not letting the baby sleep at all.

What are signs of fatigue and how to distinguish them from signs of overwork?

How to understand when it is time for the baby to be put to bed so that he does not overwork.

First of all, observe the time of wakefulness of the baby and his condition, signs of fatigue and signs of overwork.

Waking time in the first month of life is from 20 minutes to 45 (maximum - hours - by the end of the first month of life)

Signs of fatigue:

  • Your baby's activity level is declining
  • The look "glasses" and becomes directed "to nowhere". The baby may not immediately respond to toys, to words
  • baby yawns
  • The baby asks for a pacifier, a bottle, breasts, wants to handle
  • Loses interest in socializing
  • Changes in motor coordination

When fatigue turns into overwork:

  • The child is naughty
  • Losing patience
  • Crying for no reason
  • Back arching tantrums may occur
  • In fact, signs of overwork are signs of fatigue that were not seen in time.

What's wrong with long waking hours?

  1. The child becomes exhausted, becomes lethargic, capricious, such breaks are a huge burden on the nervous system. Sleep deprivation prevents the body from recovering and growing.
  2. The baby may start to eat worse, which is dangerous for his health, and in addition, it can negatively affect the lactation of a nursing mother.
  3. Long-term sleep deprivation when the newborn is awake reduces the child's immunity, weakening the protective functions of the body.

What can parents do to help their baby sleep?

  1. The most important rule that parents of a month-old baby need to remember is that there are no wrong ways to help! The main thing is that the baby can calm down thanks to your help. Suitable for this age any way to help- chest, motion sickness, swaddling, white noise. The more the conditions you create will resemble the “conditions of the uterus” and motion sickness), the easier it will be for the baby to calm down and fall asleep.
  1. Prolong, guard sleep. If the newborn did not sleep for a long time, and then finally fell asleep, it is very important to help him prolong this sleep, because after a long wakefulness, the baby may be under the influence of cortisol, as a result of which his sleep may be disturbing and short.

Mom can help the baby in the following ways:

  • Feed him sleepy
  • Pick up
  • shake
  • To shush or sing a song quietly so that the baby hears his mother's presence nearby.
  • Enable white noise
  • Put your palm on the sleeping baby so that he feels the warmth of his mother's touch.
  1. Watch for signs of baby fatigue. A child who has not slept for a long time will experience sleep deprivation. During this period, he can get tired faster than usual. Here it is important not to keep track of the clock, remembering that at the age of one month there is no day regimen yet, but to monitor the signs of fatigue of the baby, do not overwork him, feed him on demand and put him to sleep at the first

Overwork is the main enemy of restful sleep for all newborn babies and their parents!

  1. Avoid active activities. In the first month of life, and especially if the baby has already had episodes of such a long wakefulness for his age (when the newborn does not sleep for four hours or more in a row), it is not recommended to attend very noisy, mass events where loud music sounds and there is a large crowd of people - this can be an additional stress factor for the newborn. It is better to give preference to calm events with the family, in a familiar environment for the baby, or in a quiet, calm environment - in a quiet place in the park or in a cozy small cafe. The baby will still have a lot of opportunities to visit a variety of events - everything is still ahead! In the meantime, it is important to gain strength and energy for all the upcoming holidays and parties.
  1. Mom's diet. An important factor in the issue of sleep or lack thereof in a baby is the mother's diet. If a mother is breastfeeding a baby, it is important for her to remember that foods with an unusual taste (very salty, spicy) can affect the taste of milk and the baby may take the breast worse. This, in turn, can affect the quality of sleep, making the baby restless. Drinking alcohol, coffee, smoking can also be factors that affect the long-term wakefulness of the child and, therefore, it is recommended that a nursing mother refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol-containing drinks, and if it is impossible to completely eliminate it, drink coffee in a limited way, at least during the normalization of the baby's sleep.
  1. Breastfeeding initiative comes from the mother. The phrase "feeding on demand" is often taken to mean feeding on demand. But in the case when the baby is tired, his nervous system is overloaded with accumulated lack of sleep, he is tired, the mother can always initiate feeding. Mom can feed the baby to help him sleep.

Breast milk contains help for the baby to sleep both at night and during the day, and in addition, sucking actions are also relaxing for the baby.

So, if it so happens that your newborn baby does not sleep for a long time, the main thing is not to be scared, but to look at the situation practically - “how can I help my child fall asleep right now.” And every family will definitely have a lot of ideas. The most important thing is to create all the conditions for the baby in which he will be warm, quiet, comfortable and calm, then he will definitely calm down and fall asleep.

It is not easy for a mother of a nursing baby: the day flies like one moment in caring for a small miracle that settled in her house less than a year ago. And if the baby still does not sleep during the day, then you can imagine how mom's head is spinning! You need to have time to do all the housework, care for the baby, take care of the diet, hygiene, you need not forget about yourself, because a mother who has not eaten on time and has not rested will not receive the necessary amount of milk for feeding.

In such an active rhythm of life, the baby, who suddenly refused to sleep during the day, brings unexpected chaos to the mother’s regimen, becomes restless himself, and both are already so tense that they cannot do without the help of a third person!

It’s good if there is an assistant nearby who will rock and lull the baby, replace the mother in the kitchen or take a walk with the baby on the street. But if there is no such person, the parent simply cannot cope on her own without a few valuable tips!

From this article you will learn:

My tummy hurts

The most common cause of lack of sleep in babies in the first three months of life is abdominal colic. The intestinal microflora of a newborn baby is formed over the course of two whole years, but the first three months is a special period of formation, when there is a struggle in the intestines for a place between beneficial and pathogenic microflora.

Until the intestinal walls are covered with beneficial bacteria, digestion processes can be unstable, defective, gasses will form in the tummy and torment the baby along with his mother.

I am constantly hungry

There can be several reasons for a child to be hungry. The mother may not have enough milk, or there is a lot of it, but the baby does not suck until fatty milk comes from the back of the mammary gland. He gets drunk from the front, more "empty", and falls asleep. After a short time, the unsatisfied ventricle makes itself felt, the baby turns on the siren, and the mother is again forced to quit her business and run to the upset baby.

The second possible cause of hunger is the previous point, namely, abdominal cramps. Newborn babies perceive any discomfort in the abdomen as a feeling of hunger. They are looking for the chest, actively sticking to any object that touches the face. Mom perceives this behavior as hunger.

While it is necessary to deal with the prevention of bloating, constipation, diarrhea. Mom should eat strictly according to the rules of the diet of a nursing woman. Perhaps, having saved the baby from pain in the tummy, you will find him sound asleep.

I'm thirsty

If the mother's milk is too sweet or fatty, the baby may be thirsty. Not all mothers practice soldering a newborn. But if the crumbs have already been given some water, you should do this regularly. Perhaps the child does not sleep during the day due to dry mouth.

I got itchy somewhere

The delicate skin of babies is sensitive to any irritants. Infantile erythema, atopic dermatitis, a change in the hairline of the skin - all this can affect the condition of the crumbs. Itching and anxiety very often prevent newborn babies from sleeping, but, unfortunately, only a born child cannot tell his mother about this or help himself, so he can only cry.

Change my diaper

There are kids who absolutely do not care what conditions they are in, they will sniffle and not wake up for 3 hours, even if their diaper is full. But there are such representatives of the "deep intelligentsia" that even at the moment of urination they wake up and begin to show anxiety. And the mother is unlikely to be able to teach the child to do otherwise. Here, the baby is already raising parents and forcing them to change their diapers much more often than they should, otherwise they simply refuse to sleep!

I'm so excited that I can't sleep

If the prescribed period of the baby’s daytime sleep was missed, then the quite expected reaction is a violation of the further sleep and wakefulness regimen. In such a situation, you need to help the baby relax. Organize a walk in the stroller in the fresh air, bathe the baby in warm water with chamomile, give him some green tea if you have already practiced soldering.

I miss my mommy

If your little one is awake during the day, he might be telling you both to take a break! The crumbs feel the energy of the mother much more subtly than we adults. If the parent herself is already on the verge, tired, excited, excited, then her baby will behave similarly. He will feel the discomfort of the mother and show the same reaction in response.

At such moments, the mother should forget about all the affairs and problems, lie down next to her baby, enjoy closeness with the most beloved and dear little man in the world, relax and fall asleep. You will be surprised, but most likely, your baby will sleep peacefully next to you for exactly as long as you will be near him.

Sometimes you should remind yourself that the baby needs less sterilization around, and more - the constant feeling of close proximity to the mother.

Ventilate the room

The stuffiness in the room, dry air, or, conversely, excessive dampness can interfere with sleep during the day. If the microclimate in your home does not meet the provisions of the norm for a baby's room, then think about ways to correct the situation. The baby's sleep may be disturbed, followed by overexcitation of the nervous system, weakening of the immune system. Make sure that your baby is comfortable both awake and sleeping.

I feel hot

Many mothers mercilessly wrap their children, believing that a child under one year old must certainly wear a cabbage suit in which he was found. The heat exchange processes in the baby's body are not yet fully stabilized, the baby overheats very quickly, the body temperature rises, and the baby sweats. It is unpleasant for him, and the mother is still unaware why her child does not sleep during the day, she lulls him and cradles him, also covering him with a warm blanket on top.

Remember the rule: a child under one year old must be dressed in the same way as yourself, adding another layer of medium-density fabric. We are talking about the average adult, that is, not a "walrus" and not a "frost".

How many hours a day should a baby sleep?

Now, the pediatrician Komarovsky, beloved by many, would say: “Your child owes nothing to anyone!”, And he would be right. Of course, there are average indicators of a healthy sleep and wakefulness regime for a child up to a year old, but they are all conditional, and if the baby is normal, calm, active, then let him not sleep for health!

  • On average, a child of the first month of life sleeps up to 18 hours a day. He wakes up only to eat and move his limbs slightly.
  • Closer to 3 months, the maximum value of sleep per day reaches an average of 15 hours.
  • After 3 months, this value is so individual that it is difficult to give average numbers. But, as a rule, most children up to a year sleep at least twice a day for 2 hours.

If your baby does not sleep during the day, do not rush to ring the bells and run to a neurologist. First, try to eliminate the banal causes of his discomfort, spend more time with the baby, walk with him in the fresh air more often and bathe longer in warm water, and most likely, your baby will learn to sleep soundly during the day!

Video - how much should a child sleep during the day

Often, young mothers are faced with a nuisance - a baby does not sleep well. This is really hard for both the parents and the baby. What is the reason for this behavior of the baby and how to help him fall asleep?

How much sleep should a newborn

Experts believe that the duration of sleep for newborn babies should be at least 18-20 hours a day. The older the child, the less sleep time becomes.

In an infant, periods of wakefulness are replaced by sleep. These time periods are approximately the same day and night. As they grow older, the intervals of night sleep take longer, and during the day the baby begins to stay awake for much longer. The approximate time allotted for sleeping children up to a year and older can be seen in the table.

We must remember that all children are individual, and you need to make allowances for this. If a newborn baby sleeps only 16 hours, then this is also the norm, do not panic about this.

However, if the total sleep time is very different from the data in the table up or down (about 4-5 hours), and the child sleeps very little during the day or, conversely, sleep takes him all day, then this is a reason to consult a neurologist .

What are the reasons why a child may not sleep well enough?

Most of the time, kids sleep well. Various disorders are extremely rare. If the baby does not sleep, then, most likely, something just worries him and causes discomfort. This is usually accompanied by the fact that the baby cries. Eliminating the causes will lead to the fact that the child will fall asleep quickly and sleep as much as it should be at his age. There can be several reasons why a newborn does not sleep well.

Heat in the room

The most common cause of a child's poor sleep day and night. When the room is too hot, babies feel extremely uncomfortable. Heat exchange in infants is much more intense than in adults, so the air in the room where the baby is located should be cool and fresh. In addition, excessive heat increases the risk of infant colic, as well as unpleasant and painful skin irritations.

Regular ventilation, installation of an air conditioner or modern heating systems with the ability to regulate the air temperature will help eliminate the cause. If it is not possible to install new batteries or an air conditioner, then it is enough just to leave the window slightly ajar both day and night. Of course, it is necessary to ensure that there is no strong draft, and a direct stream of fresh air does not blow over the baby.

The optimal room temperature in the nursery is 18-20 °.

Often the child does not sleep and cries due to colic

Colic is a common occurrence. Up to 80% of children are affected by this disease. To make sure that the baby is tormented by the tummy, you can by the following signs:

  • The abdomen is hard and tense.
  • The baby twists its legs and tries to pull them up to the stomach.

Today, there are enough drugs that help relieve infantile colic. They can be used in consultation with a pediatrician. Most of these drugs are available in the form of sweetish syrups, kids drink them with pleasure, but you need to carefully apply them to children prone to allergic reactions.

Also, the correct temperature in the room and an adequate portion when feeding will help reduce the risk of colic (you can not overfeed the baby).

A newborn does not sleep well at night if he is hungry

Newborn babies require feeding by the hour. It is especially difficult to do this at night, since a mother, tired during the day, can simply oversleep an hour of feeding. The child will notify that he is hungry by loud crying. If the baby often wakes up from hunger, then you should pay attention to the amount of milk during breastfeeding or the rate of the mixture during artificial feeding. Perhaps the child does not have enough of the portion that the mother offers.

The child may wake up from the fact that the diapers or diapers are wet

Most often, a monthly baby simply does not notice wet diapers. However, with age, this factor becomes annoying and the baby cries when a wet diaper makes him uncomfortable. This can happen both during the day and during the night. Changing the diaper or diaper will solve the problem, and the baby will continue to sleep peacefully.

Noise or too much light in the room

During the day, the child may not sleep if the room is too light. This is annoying and uncomfortable. You can close the curtains, use blinds or shutters. You also need to monitor the noise level. It is not worth accustoming to complete silence, especially if the baby is forced to sleep in the same room with adults or other children. However, loud music, screams, and harsh sounds should be avoided while the baby is sleeping.

Natural Causes: Physiological night crying, startling

A newborn baby does not sleep well if there is no mother nearby. This is a proven fact. In order to determine whether a mother is nearby, babies even have a special physiological mechanism - scanning crying. A little sobbing and whimpering in your sleep is normal. So the child determines whether the mother is near or not. If mother's soothing strokes, hugs, voices did not follow, then the baby will cry at full strength. It is impossible to constantly be near the child, but you should not leave him for a long time. So you can calm the baby in time, preventing him from finally waking up.

It is good if at night the baby's bed will stand close to the parents' bed. So mom can calm the baby without getting up, just by stroking him.

You can deal with shuddering in a dream by swaddling. Many pediatricians do not recommend swaddling babies so that physical development and getting used to your own body happens faster and more harmoniously. However, at the time of sleep, you can lightly swaddle the baby in the area of \u200b\u200bthe handles. So he will sleep more peacefully and will not wake himself up with a start.

If the newborn does not sleep at night or during the day, you can try to use these recommendations:

  • It is good to organize a certain ritual of going to bed so that it is repeated every day. So the baby will develop a kind of reflex to fall asleep. For example, bathing, gymnastics and massage, feeding, a fairy tale or a lullaby, sleep.
  • You can stock up on natural valerian grass and make a small sachet out of it. Then you can put it at the head of the baby's crib. This will make your little one sleep better.
  • Older children (from 4-6 months) can be taught to sleep with a toy. Waking up, the child will feel that a plush friend is nearby, and calmly fall asleep further. Important: The toy must be made of soft materials, machine washable, without rough and sharp parts.
  • When bathing in a baby bath, it is good to add soothing herbs - lavender, chamomile, string.
  • In the evening it is better to avoid active outdoor games, loud music or noisy TV viewing.
  • During the day or before going to bed, it is good to take a longer walk with the baby in the fresh air.
  • The child's room before going to bed must be well ventilated.
  • If the baby does not fall asleep, you can slightly shake it (you should not get carried away, severe motion sickness is harmful to the unformed vestibular apparatus), sing a song in a quiet, calm voice.
  • Many experts recommend that mom and baby sleep together as the best prevention of sleep disorders in babies. If in the family such an option for a night's rest is acceptable, then this will be the best solution.

In the case when, subject to all the conditions and recommendations, the baby still sleeps too little, is in an excited state, cries a lot, you should immediately visit a specialist. Perhaps there is a nervous breakdown.

In most cases, the causes are not so serious and easily eliminated. With the right approach, it is not at all difficult to establish a child’s sleep, but it is very important, because this is the key to the proper development of the baby and the good rest of the mother.
