Steamed turkey cutlets for children with cheese

Steamed turkey cutlets for our precious babies! Soft and juicy - picky eaters will eat everything!

Feeding a pencil baby is sometimes so difficult! And the older the jumper gets, the more picky he is in food: this is “someday”, then “ninya”, and serve “kasek” (candy) “ashche” (more). And this despite the fact that we basically don’t have any sweets in our house. But as soon as a child tried “kasek” for a holiday, the person firmly remembered that it was sweet and tasty =)

The persistent mother and no less stubborn father of the most beautiful girl on planet Earth continue to instill in the child a taste for proper and healthy foods. And this most beautiful child first devours meat purees from jars of baby food by both cheeks (not purees carefully prepared by his mother, but exclusively factory canned food), and when joyful parents buy jars for future use, he flatly refuses them, demanding a piece of meat from his father’s plate. If you sit in your grandfather’s arms, you can also lick a pepper pod, which grandfather eats as a snack with borscht. And even at this, do not cry, but only wince firmly: after all, the grandfather strictly warned that it is impossible! =)

Having eaten my fill of my daughter’s baby purees, I decided that’s enough. If he wants to eat what we eat, let him eat. I fry cutlets very rarely, I only cook them in the oven or steam them, which is quite suitable for a child. Baked cutlets are still not quite suitable for a baby’s stomach, but steamed turkey cutlets with cheese are just right.

My husband and I also don’t mind trying the delicious, juicy and very tender baby turkey cutlets with cheese that I cook for our daughter =)

Steamed cutlets with cheese for children - ingredients:

  • Turkey breast fillet - 400 g
  • Onion – 70 g
  • Bread - 30 g
  • Hard cheese - 100 g
  • Milk – 100 ml
  • Quail eggs - 3 pcs
  • Salt - to taste
  • Greens - optional

For these cutlets, I always take a piece of wheat loaf. It is advisable to dry the bread, otherwise the cutlets will be sticky. For example, in the evening I cut off a piece of loaf and leave it on the table, and in the morning I cook cutlets. Cheese - any hard cheese to taste. I don't add any spices and add minimal salt.

Steamed turkey cutlets in a slow cooker - recipe:

Grind the fillet in a blender. I make it smaller to make it more fluffy.

Soak the bread in milk and squeeze lightly. Grind the onion in a blender.

Mix the minced meat, bread, chopped onion and quail eggs in a bowl until smooth.

Grate the cheese on a fine grater, add to the cutlet mass, and add salt.

Mix again. Beat the minced meat: smack it forcefully into the bowl several times. This will make the cutlets more fluffy.

We form the minced meat into cutlets and place them on the steamer rack. Cook in a double boiler or steamed slow cooker.

Today the bunny has a sweet carrot as a side dish =) Decorate the porridge on a plate and just chew it like candy =)

I cook steamed turkey cutlets for children for about 40 minutes.

I know that my friend steams baby cutlets for at least an hour. While turkey needs 25 minutes. In choosing the middle ground, I think I'm doing the right thing: 1 hour is too long and 25 minutes is too short for steaming baby turkey cutlets with cheese.

Many nutritionists and pediatricians advise limiting fatty meats such as pork in a child’s diet and replacing it with more nutritious and low-calorie turkey meat.

Compared to other types, turkey meat is simply teeming with iron, zinc and sodium, which normalizes metabolic processes in the child’s body. In addition, turkey contains as much phosphorus as fish. Using a meat grinder, we also grind the onion and bread soaked in milk.

4. Now add eggs to the resulting minced meat and salt to taste. You can add various herbs that the child has a positive attitude towards.

5. Mix the minced meat until smooth.

6. It is better for a child to make the cutlets small, so it will be easier for him to cope with them. To prevent the minced meat from sticking to your hands when modeling, you can moisten them with water.

7. Add a liter of water to the multicooker pan and install a steam rack. Place the cutlets on the grill at a short distance from each other. If the cutlets are medium in size, then you can cook 8-9 cutlets at a time. The rest can be frozen or prepared as a second serving.

How to cook steamed turkey cutlets in a slow cooker for children - photo recipe:

1. Prepare all the ingredients for turkey cutlets: turkey fillet, a couple of slices of bread, an onion, an egg, milk and salt.

If the onion is large, half will be enough.

2. Soak the bread in milk. Don’t pour out the milk all at once; it’s better to add it to the minced meat later if it’s too thick.

3. Grind the turkey fillet through a meat grinder. The grill in the meat grinder should have small holes.

4. We also pass the onion and bread soaked in milk through a meat grinder.

5. Add one egg and salt to the plate with minced meat.

6. Knead the minced meat. The consistency should not be too liquid. So that you can make cutlets from it.

7. We make the turkey cutlets small, because it will be easier for the child to eat them. But, of course, you can have any size if you wish.

8. Pour 1 liter of water into the multicooker pan and place a steam rack. Place all the cutlets on the grill. I got enough of them - 9 pieces. But there was still minced meat left. You can make cutlets from it and put it in the freezer until next time. Or make a second batch of steamed turkey cutlets.

9. In the multicooker, set the “steam” mode. For small turkey cutlets, 40 minutes is enough. I have a Polaris 0517 ad multicooker, but almost all models have a steam mode (Redmond, Panasonic, Philips, etc.)

10. After 40 minutes, the steamed turkey cutlets in the slow cooker will be ready.

11. You can serve turkey cutlets to your child with boiled and fresh vegetables. By the way, you can throw vegetables into the free spaces on the multicooker grill 15 minutes before the cutlets are ready. And in the lower bowl you can cook it in parallel.

Bon appetit!
