He uses the infrastructure, the labor of workers and contributions to the state from the anti-cafe for another 100 rubles (40 hryvnia).

And finally, 24 rubles (10 hryvnia) remain - this is how much each person per hour brings in operating profit to the establishment. True, the latter was considered without taking into account the need to recoup investments in furniture, board games, books and other surroundings, as well as in advertising. However, the design of such an establishment belongs to a deliberate economy class - let's say, we are talking about the “Ikea” format of furniture; all of this can easily be moved or sold by the owner when the establishment closes or remodels. And advertising often occurs through student, club and youth, word of mouth and marketing channels practically free of charge.

Let's take the calculations of the Mosigra representative as a given - and calculate the possible profit of the entire project, provided that it works 15 hours daily with a maximum attendance of 50 people and an average occupancy of 20 people all the time (the organizers of such clubs advise starting with an average occupancy of half or a third of the maximum).

So, we are talking about 24 rubles. * 20 people * 15 hours * 30 days = 216 thousand rubles (88,000 thousand hryvnia) or 3,400 dollars at the rate of 64 rubles per dollar.

We will definitely deduct from here a reserve of $500-700 monthly for force majeure (which does not happen monthly, but costs several thousand dollars at once - such as fines from fire and sanitary inspection or broken double-glazed windows in a rented premises). We will get a maximum of 2.5-3 thousand dollars in profit per month from a fairly large project.

Let's return to the fact that the operating expenses mentioned did not include advertising and marketing. If, in order to create a wave of attendance, it is extremely necessary to work closely on the latter on a high-cost basis - for example, $1000 per month - and also if you want to schedule the initial investment in repairs, furniture and surroundings (at least 18 thousand dollars per 180 square meters) for a payback period of 1-1.5 years (works out 1-1.5 thousand dollars per month) - only about 1000 dollars per month will remain from income.

The Mosigra representative, after discovering this fact, was categorical: “Is it possible to make money from an anti-cafe? Yes, it’s possible, but this is an extremely low-margin business, which means I don’t recommend it,” and closed the St. Petersburg establishment, since by Moscow standards the profit was too small.

However, we were talking about St. Petersburg - a city with high rental prices in areas near the city center, designed for 50 visitors (from 700 rubles per square meter per month or about 100-120 thousand rubles for a space of 120-180 square meters - let’s make a reservation that For club mini-cafes, office and apartment space is usually rented, and not more expensive purely retail space - because, by the way, the dishes used are disposable: the sanitary and epidemiological inspection has special requirements for cafe sinks). Probably, in less “pretentious” places, with the same price of staying in an anti-cafe, the profit could be higher than 25% of the visitor’s fee per hour.

In addition, in general, in other areas this balance of profitability (20%) and profitability (from $1000 per month) can be considered a promising investment - especially if you open a chain of anti-cafes right away or enter the market with large almost co-working-type establishments with the possibility of simultaneous accommodating 60-80 visitors.

But we will continue the calculations according to the St. Petersburg maximalist example - thus, somewhat overestimating the costs that a startup anti-cafe in a city with a lower rental price for the premises (or with the premises generally owned by the cafe owner) could incur.

Now let’s return to the infrastructure costs indicated by the Mosigra representative (let me remind you that we also multiplied them by two due to the fall in the ruble exchange rate) and check them for compliance with reality. These expenses must be at least 80 rubles* 20 people. *15 hours * 30 days = 720 thousand rubles per month.

Of these, rent with utilities, as we agreed, reaches 100-120 thousand rubles; let’s take the average amount of 110 thousand rubles.

“White” salary for seven employees - and this is exactly what the authors of business plans advise to keep in a mini-anti-café (2 shift bartenders-receptionists, director-marketing-advertiser in one person, accountant, 2 shift security guards, cleaning lady) at an average level of salaries along with taxes of 40 thousand rubles (of which only 30 thousand rubles, or about 7,500 hryvnia, on average, are received by employees) will amount to about 280 thousand rubles.

Taxes and deductions will amount to approximately a third of the turnover, which in our example is equal to approximately one million rubles per month - that is, we reserve about 330 thousand rubles for taxes.

One is geographically far from us. The second one is opening in our area, within a radius of 1 km, which poses a potential threat to Time-cafe “Reality”.
