In order to make 3D glasses with your own hands, you will need to purchase the following materials: a sheet of cardboard, a pencil, scissors, thick transparent silicone or transparent film, wide transparent tape and markers of three colors, namely blue, green, red.

First of all, on a sheet of cardboard, using a simple pencil, you need to draw the contours of the frames and spectacles. Then you need to bend a sheet of cardboard in half and use scissors to cut out the shape of glasses without lenses in duplicate. Then you should cut out two equal-sized squares from transparent film. Next, one square must be colored on one side with a blue marker, on the other side with a green marker. The second prepared square must be colored on both sides with a red marker. Then both painted squares must be covered with tape on both sides, but in such a way that there are not even small air bubbles left, otherwise the image quality will be poor. At the final stage, the prepared squares must be glued to the cardboard form of the glasses, and a second cardboard form must be glued on top.

How to make 3D glasses from old glasses

You can also make 3D glasses at home according to the second option, namely: using old glasses. To work, you will need unnecessary glasses, transparent thick film, red and blue markers, and scissors.

First you need to prepare your glasses, take out your regular lenses. According to the shape of the old lenses, it is necessary to cut out two parts of the same shape from a thick transparent film. Then one part should be colored with a red marker, the other part should be colored with a blue marker. It is important to paint the parts evenly with a marker and make sure that no streaks or smudges form. After the parts are painted, you need to wait a little while the paint dries. Next, you need to carefully insert the prepared colored parts instead of the lenses, the red part should be inserted instead of the left lens, and the blue part - instead of the right lens. After this, the 3D glasses can be considered ready, and you can start watching movies or cartoons in 3D format. But do not forget that viewing images in such glasses puts a lot of strain on the eyes; adaptation to such glasses will take about thirty seconds, and after removing the glasses, it usually takes some time for light perception to be restored.

Printer film with a gelatin layer can be dyed using old color cartridge. To do this, you will need an old inkjet printer cartridge, three ink bottles, three disposable syringes and glass plates.

First, you need to open the cartridge and remove the ink-soaked foam sponges from it. To “squeeze” ink out of sponges, place them in syringes and press the plunger, squeezing the ink into the bubbles. You will need three colors of ink: blue-green (cyan), yellow (yellow) and magenta (magenta).

To get red, you need to mix yellow and magenta ink in equal proportions. Pour the resulting red ink onto a glass plate and place the cut out lens on it, gelatin side down, so that the ink is absorbed into the gelatin in an even layer. Then take the second piece of film, do the same procedure with it and attach the pieces with a gelatin layer to each other so that they stick together. A blue-green filter is made in the same way. After a few days, the lenses will dry and can be inserted into the frame.

Ready-made filters can be inserted into a ready-made plastic frame or glued into a homemade cardboard one. The red filter is for the left eye, the blue one for the right. How to check if you can make 3D glasses at home? Just put them on and look at the stereo image. Ready-made anaglyph pictures can be downloaded on the Internet or made yourself using special programs.

Many people have probably thought about how to make 3D glasses at home after carefully studying them in the cinema. Indeed, nothing complicated at first glance - a cardboard frame and plastic “glasses”. However, 3D glasses have their own manufacturing features.

First, you should understand that “3D glasses” is a conventional name. Conventional cinema glasses with red and blue filters create a stereo effect, not a 3D effect. There are not many films of this color yet (“Coraline in the Land of Nightmares”, “Journey to the Center of the Earth”, “My Bloody Valentine”), so red and blue glasses remain popular.

Plastic can be taken from a bottle, from a CD box, from badges. The main thing is that it is clean and transparent, without cloudy spots or scratches.

The frame can be taken from old glasses or sunglasses. It is better if it is plastic - it is easier to remove the glasses from such a frame and insert new ones.

Work progress:

  1. Cut out two pieces of plastic according to the shape of the frame;
  1. Carefully, so as not to break or crush, insert the plastic blanks into the frame;
  1. Color the lenses with markers: the right lens - with a blue marker on one side, green - on the other, and the left lens - on both sides with a red marker;
  1. Wait until the lenses dry completely.

The glasses are ready!

The paint on the plastic should be applied evenly (the image depends on this). For better quality painting, you should disassemble the marker and squeeze the rod onto the lenses, evenly distributing the paint. You can also use a wide brush.

If the plastic “glasses” fall out, that is, they are thinner than required by the frame, you should lay paper or cardboard along the edges until the lens is fixed. If you don’t have a ready-made glasses frame, you can make it yourself from cardboard. To do this, cut out a wide cardboard strip and bend it in two places so that you get chokes (you need to try it on). Then cut a small triangle in the middle so that the glasses sit well on the bridge of your nose. “Windows” are cut out on both sides for future light filters. The darlings are leveled by the ears.

The filters can be secured with tape or sealed on top with the same cardboard strip with “windows”.
