After all, she is our Heavenly Mother, and we are her children. And who better than a loving mother understands her children, sympathizes with them and always lends a helping hand, no matter what they have done, and no matter what happens in their lives!

Always remember that our Heavenly Mother loves us as we are, never punishes us, never condemns us for anything, and always forgives us for everything. Her love is so great that all our sins and adversities begin to seem small and simply melt away in the Divine rays of this great love.

With this in mind, begin and end each day with prayers to our beloved intercessor, the Mother of God, the Most Holy Theotokos. The main one of these prayers is the “Song of the Most Holy Theotokos.”

Hymn to the Most Holy Theotokos

Many people read this prayer in queues to the ark with the Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos, and above the Belt itself, falling to it (or simply passing under it, as was the case in some churches), and continue to read, wearing ribbons consecrated on the Belt.

According to the rules of the Russian Orthodox Church, there are also special prayers that must be read just before venerating the shrine. Here they are.

Troparion of the Position of the Venerable Belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary, tone 8

Ever-Virgin Mother of God, the covering of men, the robe and girdle of Your most pure body, You bestowed the sovereignty on Your city, Who by Your seedless Nativity is incorruptible, for in You both nature and time are renewed. We also pray to You to grant peace to Your city and great mercy to our souls.

Kontakion of the Venerable Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos, tone 2

Your God-pleasing womb, Mother of God, Your generous belt, Your honorable power, Your city is invincible and the treasure of good things is endless, the only one who gave birth to the Ever-Virgin.

Kontakion of the Venerable Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos, tone 4

Your honorable belt today celebrates Your position, the Praising Temple, and diligently calls upon You: Rejoice, O Virgin, praise to Christians.

This is the troparion and kontakion of the feast of the Position of the Honorable Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos, which is celebrated on September 13 (August 31, old style) - but they are not necessarily read only on this day, it can be on any other, both over the Belt itself, and over the ribbon consecrated on Belt, and whenever you need help and support from the shrine, and through it - from the Mother of God herself.

There are many other prayers to the Mother of God that help in a variety of situations in life, which can also be read, asking for help through the Belt of the Mother of God. Here are a few of them.

Prayer to Our Lady

What should I pray to You for, what should I ask of You? You see everything, you know it Yourself: look into my soul and give it what it needs. You, who have endured everything, overcome everything, will understand everything. You, who entwined the Baby in a manger and took Him with Your hands from the Cross, You alone know all the heights of joy, all the oppression of grief. You, who have received the entire human race as adoption, look at me with maternal care. From the snares of sin, lead me to Your Son. I see a tear watering Your face. It is above me that you shed it, and let it wash away the traces of my sins. Here I have come, I am standing, I am waiting for Your response, O Mother of God, O All-Sung, O Lady! I don’t ask for anything, I just stand before You. Only my heart, poor human heart, exhausted in longing for truth, I cast at Your Most Pure feet, Lady! Grant to all who call You to reach the eternal day by You and worship You face to face.

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos, protecting from despair

Lady, my Most Holy Theotokos. With your all-powerful and holy prayers before our Lord, take away from me, your sinful and humble servant (name), despondency, foolishness and all nasty, evil and blasphemous thoughts. I beg you! Take them away from my sinful heart and my weak soul. Holy Mother of God! Deliver me from all evil and unkind thoughts and actions. Blessed be you, and may your name be glorified forever and ever. Amen.

Prayers of repentance to the Most Holy Theotokos

First prayer

Most Holy Lady Theotokos, the only one most pure in soul and body, the only one who surpasses all purity, chastity and virginity, the only one who has completely become the abode of the complete grace of the all-holy Spirit, the most immaterial power here has incomparably surpassed the purity and holiness of the soul and body, look upon me, vile, unclean, soul and the body that has been denigrated by the filth of the passions of my life, cleanse my passionate mind, make immaculate and order my wandering and blind thoughts, put my feelings in order and guide them, free me from the evil and vile habit of unclean prejudices and passions that torment me, stop all sin acting in me, grant to my darkened and damned mind sobriety and prudence to correct my inclinations and falls, so that, freed from sinful darkness, I will be honored with boldness to glorify and sing songs to You, the only Mother of the true Light - Christ, our God; because you, alone with Him and in Him, are blessed and glorified by every invisible and visible creation, now, and always, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Second prayer

Undefiled, Unblessed, Imperishable, Most Pure, Unbridled Bride of God, Mother of God Mary, Lady of Peace and My Hope! Look upon me, a sinner, at this hour, and from Your pure blood You unknowingly gave birth to the Lord Jesus Christ, make me merciful through Your prayers; The one who was ripeningly condemned and wounded in the heart with the weapon of sadness, wound my soul with Divine love! The mountaineer who mourned him in chains and abuse, grant me tears of contrition; With His free conduct to death, my soul was seriously ill, free me from illness, so that I may glorify You, worthily glorified forever. Amen.

Prayer three

O zealous, compassionate intercessor of the Lord Mother! I come running to You, a cursed man and a sinner above all others: listen to the voice of my prayer, and hear my cry and groaning. For my iniquities have exceeded my head, and I, like a ship in the abyss, am plunging into the sea of my sins. But You, All-Good and Merciful Lady, do not despise me, desperate and perishing in sins; have mercy on me, who repent of my evil deeds, and turn my lost, accursed soul to the right path. On You, my Lady Theotokos, I place all my hope. Thou, Mother of God, preserve and keep me under Thy roof, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Petitionary prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary

First prayer

To whom shall I cry, Lady? To whom shall I resort in my sorrow, if not to You, Queen of Heaven? Who will accept my cry and my sighing, if not You, Most Immaculate, the hope of Christians and refuge for us sinners? Who will protect You more in adversity? Hear my groaning and incline Your ear to me, the Lady Mother of my God, and do not despise me who requires Your help, and do not reject me, a sinner. Enlighten and teach me, Queen of Heaven; do not depart from me, Thy servant, O Lady, for my grumbling, but be my Mother and Intercessor. I entrust myself to Your merciful protection: lead me, a sinner, to a quiet and serene life, so that I may weep for my sins. To whom shall I resort when I am guilty, if not to You, the hope and refuge of sinners, inspired by the hope of Your ineffable mercy and Your bounty? O Lady, Queen of Heaven! You are my hope and refuge, protection and intercession and help. My Queen, Most Offering and Speedy Intercessor, cover my sins with Your intercession, protect me from enemies visible and invisible; soften the hearts of evil people who rebel against me. O Mother of the Lord my Creator! You are the root of virginity and the unfading color of purity. O Mother of God! Give me help to those who are weak with carnal passions and sick at heart, for one thing is Yours and with You Your Son and our God Imam intercession; and through Your wonderful intercession may I be delivered from all misfortune and adversity, O Most Immaculate and Glorious Mother of God, Mary. The same with hope I say and cry out: Rejoice, full of grace; Rejoice, Delighted One; Rejoice, Most Blessed One: the Lord is with You!

Second prayer

My Blessing Queen, my hope, Mother of God, Friend of the orphans and the strange, the Representative of the grieving, the Joy of the offended, the Patroness! See my misfortune, see my sorrow, help me as I am weak, feed me as I am strange. Weigh my offense, resolve it as if you will: for I have no other help except You, no other Representative, no good Comforter, only You, O Mother of God, for you will preserve me and cover me forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer three

O Most Holy Virgin, Mother of the Lord Most High, Intercessor and Protector of all who resort to You! Look down from Thy holy height upon me, a sinner (name), who falls before Thy most pure image; hear my warm prayer and offer it before Your Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ; beg Him to illuminate my gloomy soul with the light of His Divine grace, to deliver me from all need, sorrow and illness, to grant me a quiet and peaceful life, physical and mental health, to pacify my suffering heart and heal its wounds, to guide me for good deeds, may he cleanse my mind from vain thoughts, and having taught me to fulfill His commandments, may he deliver me from eternal torment and may he not deprive me of His Heavenly Kingdom. O Most Holy Theotokos! You, “Joy of all who mourn,” hear me, the sorrowful one; You, called “Quenching of Sorrow”, quench my sorrow; You, “Burning Kupino”, save the world and all of us from the harmful fiery arrows of the enemy; You, “Seeker of the Lost,” do not allow me to perish in the abyss of my sins. According to Bose, all my hope and hope is in Tyabo. Be a temporary Intercessor for me in life, and an Intercessor for eternal life before Your Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Teach me to serve this with faith and love, and to reverently honor You, Most Holy Mother of God, Most Blessed Mary, until the end of my days. Amen.

Prayer Four

Virgin Lady Theotokos, who bore in her womb the Savior Christ and our God, I place all my hope in You, I trust in You, the highest of all Heavenly powers. You, Most Pure One, protect me with Your Divine grace. Direct my life and guide me in accordance with the holy will of Your Son and our God. Grant me remission of sins, be my refuge, protection, protection and guide, leading me into eternal life. In the terrible hour of death, do not leave me, my Lady, but hasten to help me and deliver me from the bitter torment of demons. For in Your will you also have power; Do this as truly the Mother of God and sovereign over all. Accept the worthy and worthy gifts offered to You alone by us, Your unworthy servants, most merciful, all-holy Lady Mother of God, chosen from all generations, who turned out to be superior to every creature in heaven and earth. Since through You we came to know the Son of God, through You the Lord of hosts became with us, and we were made worthy of His holy Body and Blood, then blessed are You throughout all generations, most blessed of God, most holy of the Cherubim and most glorious of the Seraphim; and now, praying, O All-Holy Mother of God, do not cease to beg for us, Thy unworthy servants, so that we may be delivered from every wiles of the evil one and from every extreme, and may be kept unwounded in the face of every poisonous attack. Even to the end, through Your prayers, keep us uncondemned, so that, saved by Your intercession and Your help, we will always send glory, praise, thanksgiving and worship to the One God in the Trinity and the Creator of all. Good and most blessed Lady, Mother of the good, all-good and all-good God, look upon the prayer of Thy unworthy and indecent servant with Thy merciful eye, and act with me according to the great mercy of Thy ineffable compassion and do not look at my sins, both in word and in deed, and with every feeling done, voluntarily and involuntarily, with knowledge and in ignorance, and renew me all, making me the temple of the all-holy, life-giving and sovereign Spirit, Who is the power of the Most High, and overshadowed Your all-pure womb, and dwelt in it. For You are the helper of the weary, the representative of the needy, the savior of the distressed, the haven of the troubled, the protector and intercessor of those in extremity. Grant to Your servant contrition, silence of thoughts, constancy of thought, a chaste mind, sobriety of soul, a humble way of thinking, a holy and sober mood of spirit, a prudent and well-ordered disposition, which serves as a sign of spiritual composure, as well as piety and peace, which our Lord gave to His disciples. May my prayer come to Thy holy temple and to the dwelling place of Thy glory; May my eyes be drained of sources of tears, and may You wash me with my own tears, whiten me with streams of my tears, cleansing me from the filth of passions. Blot out the handwriting of my falls, dispel the clouds of my sadness, darkness and confusion of thoughts, remove from me the storm and desire of passions, keep me in serenity and silence, expand my heart with spiritual expansion, rejoice and rejoice me with unspeakable joy, unceasing joy, so that in the right paths of the commandments I followed Thy Son faithfully and with a blameless conscience I lived an untroubled life. Give me, praying before You, pure prayer, so that with an undisturbed mind, unwandering meditation and with an insatiable soul, I may constantly study the words of the Divine Scriptures day and night, sing in confession, and in the joy of my heart bring prayer to the glory, honor and magnification of the only begotten Son. Yours and our Lord Jesus Christ. To Him belongs all glory, honor and worship, now, and always, and unto the ages of ages! Amen.

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos, recited on Sunday, by St. Nile of Sora

O all-merciful Virgin Mother of God, Mother of generosity and love for mankind, my most beloved hope and hope! O Mother of the sweetest, firstborn and all-surpassing love of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Lover of mankind and my God, Light of my darkened soul! I fall down to You, a great sinner, and I pray to You, the source of mercy and the abyss of generosity and love for mankind: have mercy on me, I cry out to You painfully, have mercy on me, all the wounded, who fell into cruel robbers, and from clothes, clothed in nakedness, Father, woe is me, naked In the same way, my wounds became stale and rotten in the face of my madness. But, my Lady Theotokos, I humbly pray to You: look at me with Your merciful eye, and do not disdain me, all that is darkened, all that is defiled, all that is immersed in the mire of pleasures and passions, that is fallen in the rage and cannot rise: have mercy on me, and give me a helping hand, raised me from the depths of sin. O my joy! Deliver me from those who have bypassed me; enlighten Thy face upon Thy servant, save the perishing, raise up the fallen: for thou canst do all things, as the Mother of the Almighty God. Pour upon me the oil of Thy mercy, and give me the wine of tenderness; You truly have only one hope for the gains in my life. Do not reject me, who flows to You, but see my sorrow, O Virgin, and the desire of my soul, and accept this and save me, Intercessor of my salvation.

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos by St. Ephraim the Syrian

Virgin, Lady Theotokos, who, more than nature and word, gave birth to the only begotten Word of God, the Creator and Ruler of all visible and invisible creation, the One of the Trinity of God, God and Man, who became the abode of the Divine, the receptacle of all holiness and grace, in which, by the good pleasure of God and the Father , with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, the Fullness of the Divinity dwelt bodily; incomparably exalted by divine dignity and superior to every creature, Glory and Consolation, and the indescribable joy of the Angels, the royal crown of the apostles and prophets, the supernatural and wonderful courage of the martyrs, the Champion of exploits and the Giver of victory, preparing for the ascetics eternal and divine rewards, honor and glory saints, infallible Guide and Teacher of silence, the door of revelations and spiritual secrets, the Source of Light, the gate of eternal life, the inexhaustible river of mercy, the inexhaustible sea of all divine gifts and miracles, we ask and implore You, most compassionate Mother of the philanthropic Master, be merciful to us, the humble and to Thy unworthy servants, look compassionately on our captivity and humility, heal the contrition of our souls and bodies, scatter visible and invisible enemies, be for us, unworthy, in the face of our enemies a strong pillar, a battle weapon, a strong militia, a Commander and an insurmountable Champion, show us now Your ancient and wonderful mercies, so that our lawless enemies may know that Your Son and God alone is King and Lord, that You are truly the Mother of God, who gave birth to the true God in the flesh, that everything is possible for You, and whatever You desire, Lady, You have the power to accomplish all this in Heaven and on earth, and for every request to grant what is useful to anyone: health to the sick, peace to those living at sea and good navigation. Travel and protect those who travel, save captives from bitter slavery, comfort the sad, alleviate poverty and any other bodily suffering: free everyone from mental ailments and passions, invisible by Your intercessions and suggestions, so that, having completed the path of this temporary life well and without stumbling, we may improve through You and these eternal blessings in the Kingdom of Heaven. Strengthen the faithful, honored by the terrible name of Your Only Begotten Son, who trust in Your intercession and in Your mercy and in everything who have You as their Intercessor and Champion, invisibly against the surrounding enemies, dispel the cloud of despondency that envelops their souls, deliver them from their spiritual situation and give them light complacency and joy, establishing peace and serenity in their hearts. With Your prayers, Lady, save this flock primarily dedicated to You, the entire city and country, from famine, earthquake, flood, fire, sword, invasion of foreigners, internecine warfare, and turn away every righteous wrath that has come against us, by the good will and grace of the only begotten Son and Your God, to Him belongs all glory, honor and worship, with His Beginning Father, with His Co-Eternal and Life-Giving Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayerful appeal to the Most Holy Theotokos by St. John of Kronstadt

O Lady! Let it not be in vain and in vain that we call You the Lady: reveal and continually manifest over us Your holy, living, effective dominion. Reveal, for you can do everything for good, as the all-good Mother of the all-good King; disperse the darkness of our hearts, repel the arrows of crafty spirits, flatteringly driven towards us. May the peace of Thy Son, Thy peace reign in our hearts, and let us all ever joyfully exclaim: who is after the Lord, as our Lady, our all-good, all-powerful and most swift Intercessor? That is why you are exalted, Lady, that is why you have been given an indescribable abundance of divine grace, that is why ineffable boldness and strength at the throne of God and the gift of almighty prayer have been given to you, that is why you have been adorned with indescribable holiness and purity, that is why you have been given unapproachable power from the Lord, that You may preserve, protect, intercede, purify and save us, the inheritance of Your Son and God, and Yours. Save us, O Most Pure, All-Good, All-Wise and All-Powerful! For you are the Mother of our Savior, Who of all names was most pleased to be called Savior. It is common for us who wander in this life to fall, for we are covered with many-passionate flesh, surrounded by spirits of wickedness in high places, seducing us into sin, we live in an adulterous and sinful world, tempting us to sin; and You are above all sin, You are the most luminous Sun, You are the Most Pure, All-Good and All-Powerful, You tend to cleanse us, defiled by sins, like a mother cleanses her children, if we humbly call on You for help, You tend to raise us, who are constantly falling, to intercede , to protect and save us, those who are slandered from the spirits of evil, and to instruct us to march towards every path of salvation.

Prayer to the Mother of God for children

O Most Holy Lady Virgin Theotokos, save and keep under Your roof my children (names), all youths, young women and infants, baptized and nameless and carried in their mother’s womb. Cover them with the robe of Your motherhood, keep them in the fear of God and in obedience to their parents, pray to my Lord and Your Son to grant them what is useful for their salvation. I entrust them to Your maternal supervision, for You are the Divine Protection of Your servants.

And as often as possible, at any day and hour, you need to say a short prayer invocation of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Brief Prayer Invocation

Most Holy Theotokos, save us!

And if it’s especially difficult for you, and you need immediate help, following the Mother of God rule, which, according to legend, the Mother of God herself gave to people from Heaven back in the 8th century, will help. But after some time it turned out to be forgotten, and Seraphim of Sarov reminded him of it, who himself fulfilled this rule, and blessed his spiritual children in the Diveyevo monastery to do the same.

The benefits of following this rule are enormous! Even in hopeless situations, thanks to him, a way out is found. Unexpected help comes from where you wouldn't expect it. We begin to receive patronage from a variety of people, and ill-wishers, even without our efforts, are put to shame and simply disappear from our lives.

Fulfilling the Mother of God rule is not so easy - but each of us can decide for ourselves whether the efforts expended are worth the great help and grace that descends on us in the end.

Theotokos rule

Actually, the Theotokos rule is to read the “Song of the Most Holy Theotokos” 150 times:

Virgin Mary, Rejoice, O Blessed Mary, the Lord is with You; Blessed are You among women and blessed is the fruit of Your womb, for You have given birth to the Savior of our souls.

But you need to read it this way, not continuously 150 times in a row, but after every ten add other prayers, special for each ten. Thus, we divide the reading of the prayer into fifteen dozens, corresponding to the fifteen main events in the life of the Mother of God. And when reading each ten, one must remember precisely the event corresponding to it.

Reading the first ten, we remember the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After the first ten, we pray for parents, children and relatives, and read the prayer:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, save and preserve Your servants (names of parents and relatives), and rest those who died with the saints in Your eternal glory.

Reading second ten, we remember the Entry into the Temple of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Then we pray for those who are lost and have fallen from the faith:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, save and preserve and unite (or join) Your lost and fallen servants (names) to the Holy Orthodox Church.

Reading third decade, we remember the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Then we pray for the quenching of sorrows, the consolation of the mourning and the healing of the sick:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, quench our sorrows and send comfort to your grieving and sick servants (names).

Reading fourth decade, we remember the Meeting of the Most Holy Theotokos with Righteous Elizabeth. After reading, we pray for the unification of those who have been separated, and for everyone who is absent, who has left home or has gone missing, to return safely:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, unite your separated servants (names).

Reading fifth decade, we remember the Nativity of Christ, we pray for the salvation of the soul - ours and those close to us, for a new, better life with God in the soul:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, grant to me, who was baptized into Christ, to be clothed in Christ.

Reading sixth decade, we remember the Presentation of the Lord, then we pray that at the hour of our death the Mother of God herself will meet the soul, free us from the ordeal and grant us, with our last breath, to partake of the Holy Mysteries:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, grant me, with my last breath, to partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ and lead my soul through terrible ordeals.

Reading seventh decade, we remember the flight to Egypt of the Holy Family - Joseph and Mary with the Christ Child, and then we pray that the Queen of Heaven will help us avoid temptations and deliver us from misfortunes:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, do not lead me into temptation in this life and deliver me from all misfortunes.

Reading eighth decade, we remember how the Mother of God searched for the twelve-year-old boy Jesus in Jerusalem. Then we pray that Mother will help us to seek and find Christ in our lives, and to pray to Him:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, Most Pure Virgin Mary, grant me the unceasing Jesus Prayer.

Reading ninth decade, we remember the miracle created by Christ in Cana of Galilee, when the Lord turned water into wine. Then we pray, asking the Mother of God for help in business and deliverance from need:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, help me in all my affairs and deliver me from all needs and sorrow.

Reading tenth ten, we remember how the Mother of God grieved at the Cross of the Lord. Then we pray that She will help us in sorrow and despondency:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, Most Blessed Virgin Mary, strengthen my spiritual strength and drive away despondency from me.

Reading eleven ten, we remember the Resurrection of Christ, then we pray that She will help us to resurrect our souls and instill in us a readiness for spiritual exploits:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, resurrect my soul and grant me constant readiness for heroic deeds.

Reading twelfth decade, we remember the Ascension of Christ, and then we pray that the Queen of Heaven will help us to elevate our souls, to direct our thoughts to the pursuit of the highest, spiritual:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, deliver me from vain thoughts and grant me a mind and a heart striving for the salvation of the soul.

Reading thirteenth decade, we remember the Upper Room of Zion, where the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles and the Mother of God, and then we pray for the grace of the Holy Spirit to be sent down to us:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, send down and strengthen the grace of the Holy Spirit in my heart.

Reading fourteenth decade, we remember the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, then we pray that when our hour comes, God will grant us a peaceful and serene death:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, grant me a peaceful and serene death.

Reading fifteen, we think about the glory of the Mother of God, with which the Lord crowned Her after she ascended from Earth to Heaven, and then we pray that the Queen of Heaven will not leave us living on Earth and protect us from all evil:

O Most Holy Lady Theotokos, save me from all evil and cover me with Your honest omophorion.

PRAYERS OF REPENTANCE TO THE HOLY VIRGIN

Prayer to the Mother of God 1st

Amen.

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary 2nd

Amen.

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary 3rd

Amen.

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos on Sunday, St. Nil Sorsky

Prayer 4

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos, St. Ephraim the Syrian

Prayerful appeal to the Most Holy Theotokos, St. John of Kronstadt

Oh, Lady!

It’s over me You shed it and let it wash away the traces of my sins. Here I have come, I am standing, I am waiting for Your response, O Mother of God, O All-Singing One, O Lady! I don’t ask for anything, I just stand before You. Only my heart, poor human heart, exhausted in longing for truth, I cast at Your Most Pure feet, Lady! Grant to all who call You to reach the eternal day by You and worship You face to face.

THE MORNING RULE

“To the Virgin Mary…” is read 150 times daily:

Virgin Mary, Rejoice, O Blessed Mary, the Lord is with You; Blessed are You among women and blessed is the fruit of Your womb, for You have given birth to the Savior of our souls.

If, out of habit, it will be difficult to complete 150 times daily, you should read 50 times at first. After every ten, you need to read “Our Father” and “Doors of Mercy” once:

Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Open the doors of mercy to us, blessed Mother of God, who trust in You, so that we may not perish, but may we be delivered from troubles by You: for You are the salvation of the Christian race.

Below is a diagram in which Bishop Seraphim (Zvezdinsky) included his prayers to the Ever-Virgin Mary. Fulfilling the Theotokos rule, he prayed for the whole world and covered with this rule the entire life of the Queen of Heaven.

It is worthy to eat as to truly bless Thee, Theotokos, Ever-Blessed and Most Immaculate and Mother of our God. We magnify Thee, the most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison, the Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption.

It is truly worthy to glorify You, Mother of God, eternally happy and most holy and Mother of our God. And we glorify You, the true Mother of God, more honorable than the Cherubim and incomparably more glorious than the Seraphim, who gave birth to the Son of God without breaking virginity.

Worthy- fair. Truly- truly, completely. Blazhiti Cha- to please You, to glorify You. Blessed- happy. Immaculate- extremely immaculate, most holy. Decay- damage, destruction. Without incorruption– without violation (of virginity). Existing- true.

Who are we glorifying with this prayer?

With this prayer we glorify the Most Holy Theotokos.

Who are Cherubim and Seraphim?

Cherubim and Seraphim are the highest and closest angels to God. The Most Holy Virgin Mary, as having given birth to God in the flesh, is incomparably higher than them.

God the Word is the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Why is the Son of God called the Word?

The Son of God is called the Word (John 1:14) because, when He lived in the flesh on earth, He revealed, that is, showed us the invisible God the Father, just as our word reveals or shows the thought in our soul.

Note:

This prayer:

“Virgin Mother of God, Rejoice, Blessed Mary, the Lord is with You; Blessed are You among women and blessed is the fruit of Your womb, for You have given birth to the Savior of our souls. “

Theotokos - who gave birth to God.

Rejoice is a common form of greeting common in the East.

Graceful - filled with the grace of God; letters blessed.

In wives - among women.

For you gave birth to the Savior - for you gave birth to the Savior.

Words Rejoice, the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women taken from the greeting of the Archangel Gabriel, when he announced to the Blessed Virgin Mary the birth from Her according to the flesh of the Son of God (Luke 1:28).

Words Blessed are You among women mean that the Most Holy Virgin Mary, as the Mother of God, is glorified more than all other women (Luke 1:42; Ps. 44:18).

Words blessed is the fruit of your womb taken from the greeting of righteous Elizabeth, when the Holy Virgin Mary, after the Annunciation, wished to visit her (Luke 1:42).

Fruit of the womb Hers is the Son of God Jesus Christ.

Since you are here...

...we have a small request. More and more people are reading the “Orthodoxy and Peace” portal, but there are very few funds for the editorial work. Unlike many media outlets, we do not offer paid subscriptions. We are convinced that it is impossible to preach Christ for money.

But. Pravmir is daily articles, its own news service, it is a weekly wall newspaper for churches, it is a lecture hall, its own photos and videos, it is editors, proofreaders, hosting and servers, it is FOUR publications Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru, Pravmir. com. So you can understand why we are asking for your help.

For example, 50 rubles a month – is it a lot or a little? A cup of coffee? Not much for a family budget. For Pravmir – a lot.

If everyone who reads Pravmir subscribes for 50 rubles. per month, he will make a huge contribution to the opportunity to spread the word about Christ, about Orthodoxy, about meaning and life, about family and society.

This prayer is also called an angelic greeting, since it contains the words of an angel (Archangel Gabriel): Hail, full of grace Mary, the Lord is with you: blessed are you among women, which he told the Virgin Mary when he appeared to Her in the city of Nazareth to announce to Her the great joy that the Savior of the World would be born from Her. Without illness, she miraculously gave birth to Jesus Christ from the Holy Spirit, who, having become man from Her, is at the same time the Son of God who came down from heaven, and therefore She is the true Mother of God.

We must pray for our Fatherland-Russia, for the country in which we live, for our spiritual father, parents, relatives, benefactors, Orthodox Christians and all people like for the living, so for the dead, because everyone is alive with God(Luke 38).

Creed or symbol of the Orthodox faith

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth, visible to all and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God,

The Only Begotten, who was born of the Father before all ages,

Light from Light, True God from True God,

begotten, uncreated, consubstantial with the Father,

For our sake, man and our salvation came down from Heaven and became incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became human.

Crucified for us under Pontius Pilate,

and suffered and was buried.

And he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures.

And ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father.

And again the future will be judged with glory by the living and the dead,

His Kingdom will have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Life-Giving,

Who proceeds from the Father, who is with the Father and the Son

We bow down and glorify the prophets who spoke.

Into one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

I confess one baptism for the remission of sins.

I hope for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the next century.

Detailed description from several sources: “a powerful short prayer to the Virgin Mary” - in our non-profit weekly religious magazine.

Prayers for protection to the Blessed Virgin Mary

If the prayer of the righteous can do much, then all the more powerful is the prayer of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Even during Her earthly life, She found grace from the Lord and turned to Him with intercession for those who asked for Her help and intercession.

The Most Holy Theotokos was awarded special grace and closeness to the Throne of God after Her Dormition. She moved to Heaven not only in order to abide in the radiance and majesty of the Divine Glory of Her Son, but also in order to intercede for us before Him with Her prayers. “Rejoice! “I am with you all the days,” She said, appearing to the holy apostles.

The Blessed Virgin, while living on earth, herself experienced the same deprivations, needs, troubles and misfortunes that we also experience. She experienced the sorrow of suffering on the cross and the death of Her Son. She knows our weaknesses, needs and sorrows. Our every sin causes Her suffering, and at the same time, our every misfortune finds Her sympathy. What mother does not take care of her children and is not heartbroken by their misfortunes? What kind of mother leaves them without her help and attention? The Mother of God is always ready to give us timely help.

The Mother of God, like the sun, shines and warms us with the rays of Her love and revives our souls with the grace given to Her from God. By Her Spirit She always abides on earth. When blessed Andrew the Fool, like the Apostle Paul, was caught up in spirit into the heavenly abodes and saw the Lord there, he began to grieve, not seeing the Most Pure Mother of God. But the Angel told him that She had retired into the world to help people.

We are all burdened with sorrows, life's adversities, illnesses and misfortunes, for we all sin. The Word of God says that there is no person who would live on earth and not sin. But God is the highest Love, and out of love for His Mother and for us, He accepts Her prayers. We believe in Her constant intercession and intercession for us sinners before the Merciful and Humane-loving God and in the power of Her prayers. Let us resort to Her as a quiet and kind refuge and diligently call on Her all-holy and all-sung name. And She will not leave us with the unexpected joy of salvation.

Ideally, this prayer is best said in front of the “Seven Arrow” icon (Softening Evil Hearts), but any other image of the Blessed Virgin Mary will do.

“Soften our evil hearts, Mother of God,

and extinguish the misfortunes of those who hate us

and resolve all the tightness of our soul.

Looking at Your holy image,

We are touched by your suffering and mercy for us

and we kiss your wounds,

We are horrified by our arrows, tormenting You.

Do not let us, Mother of the Compassionate,

in our hardness of heart and from the hardness of our neighbors we will perish.

You will truly soften evil hearts.”

“O Most Holy Lady Lady Theotokos!

Raise us, servant of God (names) from the depths of sin

and deliver us from sudden death and from all evil.

Grant us, Lady, peace and health

and enlighten our minds and the eyes of our hearts to salvation,

and vouchsafe us, Thy sinful servants,

Kingdom of Your Son, Christ our God:

for His power is blessed with the Father and His Most Holy Spirit. »

“We resort to your mercy, Virgin Mary:

Do not despise our prayers in sorrow, but deliver us from troubles,

The One Pure and Blessed One.

“O long-suffering Mother of God, Higher than all the daughters of the earth,

by His purity and by the multitude of sufferings,

You brought them to the lands

accept our painful sighs

and keep us under the shelter of Your mercy.

Do You know no other refuge and warm intercession?

but, as one who has boldness towards the One who was born of You,

help and save us with your prayers,

may we reach the Kingdom of Heaven without stumbling,

where together with all the saints we will sing praises in the Trinity to the one God, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen".

“O Most Holy and Most Blessed Lady Theotokos,

accept these heartfelt prayers,

ascending with great hope and faith in Your immeasurable mercy,

have mercy, intercede, save and protect me, the servant (servant) of God (him)

from all evil and give me Your help (indicate request).

O zealous intercessor, deliver me through these prayers,

lifting up to You with all my heart and soul,

from all witchcraft harm, temptations of the world,

from sinful lusts, from the wiles of the devil

and from attacks by enemies visible and invisible..

And cover with Your Honest Prayer Veil from all evil. Amen"

save and have mercy on us, Your sinful servants (name),

from vain slander and from all sorts of troubles, misfortunes and sudden deaths,

have mercy in the daytime hours, morning and evening,

and protect us at all times - standing, sitting,

on every path that walks, in the hours of the night that sleeps,

supply, protect and cover, protect.

To the Lady Theotokos, from all enemies visible and invisible,

from every evil situation,

in every place and at every time, be to us the Mother of God, an insurmountable wall,

and strong intercession always,

and now, and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen".

There is a short prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos, which we should say as often as possible.

“Virgin Mother of God, Rejoice, O Blessed Mary, the Lord is with You;

Blessed are You among women and blessed is the fruit of Your womb,

for you gave birth to the Savior of our souls"

These words are taken from the greeting of the Archangel Gabriel when he announced to the Blessed Virgin Mary the birth from Her according to the flesh of the Son of God (Luke 1:28).

Particularly zealous prayer books, monks, and hermits fulfill a special rule of the Theotokos, which includes other prayers, passages from the Gospel, as well as an Akathist (praise, hymn). At the same time, they remember all the stages of the life of the Mother of God from birth to death.

In churches they pray standing at any or especially revered icon in the family with the image of the Virgin Mary.

Text and meaning

The text of the prayer is clearly divided into three parts. The first, as mentioned at the beginning, was spoken by the Archangel Gabriel. This is an appeal to the Virgin Mary and a warning about the coming birth of the baby Jesus.

The fact that the Mother of God is the most glorified of all earthly women was testified by the holy righteous Elizabeth - the future mother of John the Baptist, a relative of Mary; Mary was the first to tell her the joyful news.

The last, final part is very important. This is a symbol of the possibility of atonement for sins, for the very birth of Christ and his subsequent earthly life testify to this.

Rejoice, Virgin Mary,
Blessed Mary, the Lord is with you,
Blessed are You among women,
and blessed is the fruit of Your womb,
For you gave birth to the Savior of our souls.

In Russian

Mother of God Virgin Mary, filled with the grace of God, rejoice! The Lord is with you; Blessed are You among women and blessed is the fruit born of You, because You gave birth to the Savior of our souls.

First prayer
O Most Holy Lady Lady Theotokos! Raise us up, servant of God ( names) from the depths of sin and deliver us from sudden death and from all evil. Grant us, O Lady, peace and health and enlighten our minds and the eyes of our hearts to salvation, and grant us, Thy sinful servants, the Kingdom of Thy Son, Christ our God: for His power is blessed with the Father and His Most Holy Spirit.

Second prayer
Most Holy Virgin, Mother of the Lord, show me, the wretched, and the servants of God ( names) Your ancient mercy: send down the spirit of reason and piety, the spirit of mercy and meekness, the spirit of purity and truth. Hey, Most Pure Lady! Be merciful to me here and at the Last Judgment. For you are, O Lady, the glory of heaven and the hope of earth. Amen.

Prayer three
Undefiled, Unblessed, Imperishable, Most Pure, Unbridled Bride of God, Mother of God Mary, Lady of Peace and My Hope! Amen.

Prayer Four
Amen.

Fifth prayer
Amen.

Prayer six
You, “Joy of all who mourn,” hear me, the sorrowful one; You, called “Quenching of Sorrow,” quench my sorrow; You, "Burning Kupino", save the world and all of us from the harmful fiery arrows of the enemy; You, “Seeker of the Lost,” do not allow me to perish in the abyss of my sins. Amen.
