Children cannot disable parental controls because... it is protected by two passwords (from the administrator account and the internal program password).

Among antiviruses, this particular product combines the greatest functionality in all areas, but it is paid. With its help, you can protect your children from the negative influence of the computer and the World Wide Web, limit visits to “stinker” sites and access to web resources with inappropriate content.

KIS allows you to control the use of the computer by each user, the launch of individual programs, Internet use (you can set a daily limit on work or allow use for a certain period of time), allow or prohibit visits to websites. You can also set the types of files that cannot be downloaded to your computer.

For those who seek to control children down to the smallest detail, it is possible to control correspondence in social messengers and social networks, limit communication with certain contacts, prevent the transfer of personal data, monitor the use of unwanted words in their child’s speech, etc.

Special programs for parental control

The functionality of parental control applications is significantly different. Some applications allow you to prohibit a child from anything and everything, while others are aimed at carefully monitoring his actions solely for the purpose of informing parents. Which one to choose - everyone determines for themselves. Moreover, they can be intelligently combined: conduct surveillance using Mipko, control activities on the Internet using KinderGate Parental Control, organize timed access through CyberMama, or do everything at once in ChildWebGuardian Pro. All of them are provided under a Shareware license, which means you need to purchase the product after the trial period. Even during installation, it allows you to select a filtering level, of which there are only 5, according to which the selection of resources for the child will be carried out. Setting up allowed and prohibited web resources is quite flexible, and a database of 500 million sites is used for analysis, which is guaranteed to cover the most popular web projects. If necessary, you can create combined rules: certain protocols, schedules and specific sites will be taken into account.

The application can organize access on a schedule, but it is not as functional as in the specialized program described below.

ChildWebGuardian Pro

This is a multifunctional program for those who want everything at once. There are several sections here that are responsible for certain functions. “Banned words” collect a list of stop words, which, if identified, block the viewing of web pages, emails and messages on social networks. The “Web Filter” section contains a list of unwanted sites, and the ability to block individual social networks is available. Here you can also set up a schedule for using the Internet for all resources and for each individually.

“Filter by application” allows you to limit the use of certain applications and games.

If it is necessary to conduct remote control, the application collects information about sites visited, attempts to launch prohibited programs and view prohibited content, and much more, and then sends a report by e-mail. The statistics are far from ideal: there is not enough data on operating time, records of key combinations used and the content of correspondence in instant messengers and several other features that are available in other instant messengers.

You've probably heard how useful Parental Controls are in Windows.
Previously, people understood in words and did not interfere where they were not asked, but words have ceased to help and it is no longer possible to do without delimitation of powers.
All you need in Windows 7 is blocking games, blocking the installation and removal of programs.

First of all, about the principle of parental control

The differentiation of rights is achieved by creating a second account, when the owner of the first administrator account can control the computer, and the owner of the second account can simply use those programs and games that are installed by parents and allowed.

But there are so-called “Public DNS resolvers” that you can use instead of the server provided by your ISP. Some Public DNSs automatically filter content and weed out porn sites, as well as sites known to be fraudulent or contain malware. This doesn't guarantee that everything will be filtered out, but if you choose a "family-friendly" DNS resolver, most sites with adult content will not end up on your children's computer screens and gadgets.

However, setting up such a DNS resolver will not prevent your child from accessing a “bad” site directly using its IP address. But this will already be associated with certain difficulties for him, because... it’s much easier to click on a link in a search engine or type in a URL.

2. Enable temporary Internet access restrictions on your router.

You can't monitor your children's online activity all the time, especially when you're sleeping. Most home routers and wireless access points have a feature that limits Internet access to certain hours. Therefore, you can limit your Internet use to daytime hours and early evenings only.
