Vaginal bath name according to nomenclature. Green pharmacy: how to properly make chamomile baths. Benign tumors of the uterus

The cervix is an organ that is often subject to inflammatory processes, so sometimes there is a need for specific gynecological measures. One such procedure is a vaginal bath. The entire procedure will take the patient no more than a quarter of an hour, but medicinal solutions prescribed by the doctor can help solve many gynecological problems.

Indications and contraindications

Vaginal baths can be used as an independent method of treatment, as well as in combination with other gynecological procedures. They are also used as preparation for surgery and certain types of examinations.

Contraindications to vaginal baths: menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum and postoperative periods.

Preparation for the procedure

Before going to the office where the procedure will be performed, it is necessary to empty the bladder and rectum, then carry out hygienic measures.

How to make vaginal baths

After the doctor has performed a gynecological examination, he determines the order of the procedure. Then, having explained to the patient all the intricacies of the event, he gets to work.

The procedure is performed in a gynecological chair in several stages:

  • Cusco's speculum is fixed in the vagina;
  • part of the solution is poured into the vagina and, with the help of mirrors, is immediately drained;
  • the remaining solution is poured into the vagina so that the entire vaginal area of the cervix is covered;
  • After 5-15 minutes, the solution is drained, and the doctor uses cotton swabs to dry the vaginal walls.

After the procedure is completed, the patient can go about her business; there is no need to stay in the medical facility for observation. There is no need to be afraid that the procedure will cause harm, because the solutions used for vaginal baths are diluted in safe proportions, and the instruments are thoroughly disinfected.

Results

As a result of the use of vaginal baths, patients experience the following improvements:

  • pain and inflammation disappear;
  • other symptoms of diseases are relieved: itching and burning go away.

During and after the procedure, there is a possibility of the following complications occurring: injury to the vaginal tissue when installing instruments, pain when removing the speculum, an allergic reaction to drugs introduced into the vagina. To avoid such consequences, you need to do an allergy test with this drug before the procedure.

At the Diana Clinic, vaginal baths are performed by experienced doctors, so you don’t have to be afraid of pain and other unpleasant sensations.

Vaginal bath (therapeutic) - 500 rub.

One of the simple but very effective procedures in gynecology is vaginal bath. Thanks to the direct delivery of the disinfectant to the cervical area, it allows you to achieve a good anti-inflammatory effect.

Vaginal bath: when and why?

The cervix, despite its small size, naturally has a special structure. There are two types of epithelium adjacent here - single-layer cylindrical and multilayer squamous. The border where the two types of epithelium meet each other is where most inflammatory diseases occur. What works well to relieve inflammation? – Rinsing the inflamed area with disinfectants. A vaginal bath helps achieve this goal.

Main medical indications for the procedure:

  • Cervicitis;
  • Endocervicitis;
  • Cervical erosion;
  • Colpitis.

For these pathologies, the bath is used in addition to conservative treatment methods. If a vaginal bath is performed before inserting a tampon with medication, this increases the effectiveness of the administered medication. It is also used before surgery to prepare the cervix, and after it for more active rehabilitation.

A vaginal bath is not performed when the cervix is dilated, because in this condition infection can be carried into the uterus. That is, during menstruation, after an abortion and childbirth, this procedure is not prescribed.

How is this done?

The procedure takes place on a gynecological chair.

  1. A speculum is inserted into the vagina. It opens access to the cervix.
  2. The cervix is treated with a sterile cotton ball and the mucus is removed.
  3. The first dose of medication is administered. It pours out immediately by tilting the mirror down.
  4. The second portion of the medicine is poured in. The speculum is closed and left in the vagina for 5-10 minutes.
  5. After this time, the medicine is drained and the vagina is dried with a sterile swab.

The patient can go home immediately after the procedure. The regularity of baths is prescribed by the attending physician.

At the end of the procedure, the mirror, carefully rotating in one direction, is removed from the vagina.
