Baking with puff pastry with apples: quick and easy recipes. Puff pastries with apples made from puff pastry without yeast “Tenderness”

So, I have 500 g of ready-made puff pastry. You can use either yeast or yeast-free puff pastry; I have the second option. Most often, such puff pastry is sold in packs, where it has the form of layers of the same thickness and shape. And just my 500 g of dough is represented by three such layers.

And yes, don’t forget to turn on the oven at the very beginning of preparing puff pastry apple puffs. Baking temperature – 180 degrees. By the time the baking sheet with still raw puff pastries goes into the oven, it will already be warmed up.

From three layers of finished puff pastry, I should get 9 puffs with apples, and each such puff will be slightly smaller than a woman’s palm. I cut each strip (layer) of dough crosswise into three parts. In total we got 9 rectangles.

We roll out each rectangle of dough and thereby increase its area. The approximate thickness of the dough is now about 3 mm. Visually divide the rectangle into two parts, and then make cuts on one of the parts as in the photo.

In this way, I prepared all the dough pieces, after which I moved on to preparing the apple filling for future puff pastries.

To prepare the filling, I took three sour apples, washed them and cut out the core. Then I cut the apples into small cubes and added three tablespoons of sugar and one tablespoon of corn starch (you can also use potato starch). Mix the filling thoroughly so that the starch covers each piece of apple.

Why is there starch here? During the baking process of the apple puffs, the apples will release juice, which will begin to flow out. But we want to get beautiful puff pastries with apples, so the starch will mix with apple juice during baking and the filling will not leak out because it will thicken slightly.

Divide the apple filling equally into 9 layers.

Carefully seal the edges of the puff pastries, otherwise during the baking process you risk getting something else instead of puff pastries with apples.

Place the apple puffs from the prepared puff pastry onto a floured baking sheet. But that's not all, we need an egg. Shake it lightly with a fork and brush the surface of each apple puff with egg. Only after this we place the baking sheet with apple puffs in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake them for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

You will be surprised at how the puff pastries will begin to “grow” and “broaden” during the baking process. It seems that I rolled out the puff pastry very thinly, but the finished puff pastry has great potential, it still took its toll and the puff pastries acquired a very appetizing airiness.

All that remains is to decorate the puff pastry with apples from the prepared puff pastry with a small amount of powdered sugar and you can serve them to the table. Airy, crispy, with a juicy apple filling, the puff pastries look very impressive, no worse than store-bought ones (to be honest, they cannot be compared with store-bought ones). And with a glass of milk or a cup of tea, these wonderful apple puffs can inspire and lift your spirits literally instantly!

Ingredients for making apple puff pastry:

  • Puff pastry without yeast - 500 g
  • Egg - 1 piece
  • Apple jam for filling - 200 g (Or 4 medium apples + 3 tablespoons of sugar)

How to cook:

  1. Unleavened dough is ideal for puff pastries, as it contains more layers.
  2. Place the layers of dough without packaging on a floured board, sprinkle flour on top of the dough and, covered with a towel, leave to defrost for 30 minutes.
  3. If you don’t have a ready-made filling, then while the dough is defrosting, peel fresh apples, cut them into cubes and mix with sugar. Let them stand in a sealed container for 15 minutes.
  4. When the dough becomes plastic, lightly roll the layer in one direction so as not to disturb the structure of the dough. Cut each layer into squares.
  5. On each square, at a distance of about 1 cm from the edge, we make cuts in the form of two corners so that they do not connect to each other (as in the photo).
  6. Fold one corner of the dough over to the opposite one.
  7. Then we also bend the second corner.
  8. Place the filling in the center.
  9. You can make puff pastries much simpler. Place the filling in the center of each square.
  10. We bend the opposite corners to the center and glue them together.
  11. Then we also glue the other opposite corners.
  12. Line a baking tray with baking paper or use a silicone baking mat. Place the prepared puff pastries on it.
  13. To give the puff pastries an appetizing color before baking, brush them with a lightly beaten egg.
  14. Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake until golden brown (about 20-30 minutes).

To prepare puff pastry with apples from ready-made puff pastry, I used:

  • package of puff pastry (500 g)
  • 8 medium-sized apples (there are more in the photo, ignore them)
  • one egg
  • 3 tablespoons sugar

How to cook:

  1. Peel the apples, cut them into halves and remove the cores.
  2. The dough should be defrosted by this point.
  3. Using a rolling pin, roll out each layer of dough one by one to half its original thickness. It is desirable to get even squares. Then cut each square into two rectangles. Place half an apple and a little sugar on the edge of each.
  4. Then we fasten the edges of the pie around the entire perimeter. Similarly, we “mold” the remaining puff pastries and place them on a baking sheet.
  5. Beat the egg with a fork. Using a pastry brush, grease the surface of the puff pastries and sprinkle them with the remaining sugar. Place the apple puffs in the oven (preheated to 200 degrees) and bake them for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let the finished puff pastries cool slightly and then transfer to a plate. Puff pastry apple puffs can be stored for 3-4 days in a sealed plastic bag, which will help prevent the dough from drying out. And before eating, you can warm up the apple puffs slightly in the microwave, then they will be as good as new again :) Bon appetit!

There is probably no need to explain to anyone what these puff pastries are... Delicate puff pastry, tasty filling and speed of preparation make such pastries very popular and loved by everyone.

I also often make puff pastries - both my husband and daughter like them. One of my most successful recipes is apple puffs made from ready-made puff pastry. Very affordable, very simple and incredibly tasty!

I really hope that you will like this simple recipe for apple puffs made from ready-made puff pastry.

Ingredients:

for 4 puffs:

  • 620 g puff pastry;
  • 120 g apple;
  • 0.5 tsp lemon juice;
  • 1 yolk;
  • 30 g sugar;
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling.

How to make apple puffs:

I’m a lazy person, so most often I use ready-made dough for puff pastries, which is sold in any supermarket. To prepare the puff pastry, use defrosted dough. Sprinkle the work surface (table, board or silicone mat) with flour.

Unroll the defrosted dough on a work surface. Roll out slightly.

Cut the dough into rectangles measuring approximately 10x20 cm.

On one half of the rectangle we make 4-5 cuts, not reaching the edges by 1-1.5 cm.

Wash the apples thoroughly. Peel the peel and remove the core. Cut into small cubes - approximately 2-4 mm in size. Sprinkle the apples with lemon juice (to prevent them from darkening).

Place the filling on the opposite side of the cuts. We put quite a lot of filling: in a layer of about 1 cm, not reaching the edges by 1-1.5 cm, so that the dough remains to pinch the edges.

Sprinkle about 1-1.5 teaspoons of sugar on top of the filling.

Cover the filling with the cut half.

Thoroughly h pinch the edges.

Fold the resulting thin edge down, leaving “ears” at the corners.

Place the puff pastries on a baking sheet, leaving a distance of about 3 cm between them. The baking sheet must first be covered with baking paper or a silicone mat.

Lightly beat the yolk with a whisk or fork, add a teaspoon of cold water, and beat some more.

Brush the tops of the puff pastries with yolk - using a pastry brush (the greased puff pastries form an appetizing crust during baking).

Bake in an oven preheated to 220 degrees for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.

Place the finished puff pastries on a wire rack and cool.

If desired, you can sprinkle these puff pastries with powdered sugar. That's it! Now you know how to make puff pastries with apples: rosy, aromatic and incredibly tasty!

Many housewives love to pamper their households with delicious and satisfying pastries. But not everyone has enough time to prepare the dough. In this case, puff pastry and apples come to the rescue. This baking does not take much time, does not require special culinary skills, and apples are a generally available product, inexpensive and quick to process.

Buy or cook?

Today there are a huge number at home. Housewives are faced with a choice: buy dough in a store or make it themselves? Experts say that preparing truly delicious puff pastry is a rather complex and lengthy process. So choose high-quality dough in the store and cook without wasting time and effort.

Further recipes are offered taking into account the fact that the puff pastry has already been purchased from you, removed from the freezer, defrosted and ready to use.

How to roll it out?

It is important to remember that puff pastry is rolled out strictly in one direction. Don't roll the dough quickly like you do when making dumplings. Baking from puff pastry with apples requires care and precision. Try not to roll out the dough before it is completely defrosted. If you start cutting or rolling out the ice cream dough, it will simply break and will not fit well in the oven.

Envelopes with apples

To prepare you will need: half a kilogram of dough, five large apples, 2 tbsp. spoons of granulated sugar, 30 grams of butter, two teaspoons of cinnamon, lemon juice.

The initial stage of preparation will be preparing the filling. Anything with apples requires that the filling be cut quite finely. The apples will need to be cut into very small cubes or strips and sprinkled with lemon juice. The next stage is frying apples in butter with the addition of cinnamon and granulated sugar.

While the apples are frying, you need to prepare the puff pastry. The recipes assume that the dough will be rolled out in a fairly thick layer. Apples give a lot of juice when cooking, so the dough should not spread during the process. One piece of dough can be divided into four or six large pieces. Roll out each part a little.

Cooled fried apples with cinnamon are placed on a piece of dough and wrapped in the form of an envelope or triangle. The process is quite fast. The puff pastry with apples will fry for about 15 minutes. Many recipes suggest preheating the oven to 220 degrees, but experts say that 180-190 degrees is enough for the dough to rise and brown.

Lazy apple pie

This recipe is even faster and simpler than the previous one. Here, puff pastry with apples is presented in the form of a large, hearty pie. To prepare you will need: 200-300 grams of puff pastry, two large apples, 2-3 tbsp. spoons of granulated sugar, a little cinnamon, a small bag of vanillin, the juice of half a lemon.

As always, cooking begins with preparing the filling. This recipe uses apple slices about half a centimeter thick. Pie is a pastry made from puff pastry with apples, which involves a fairly large amount of filling. Therefore, if two apples are not enough, add more. Remember that the filling really sticks out of the pie. It will be juicier and tastier this way. The apples will need to be flavored with vanilla, granulated sugar (powdered sugar) and cinnamon, after sprinkling with lemon juice.

As a rule, a package with dough comes with two pieces. So, from one package you should get two hearty apple pies. Each piece rolls out a little. Several cuts are made in the middle. They are needed so that the dough bakes better and rises while cooking in the oven.

Next, the filling will be applied to the cuts. There should be quite a lot of it. The filling is covered with pieces of dough on both edges and secured. The top of the pie can be brushed with egg yolk or vegetable oil. Baking time is 15-20 minutes at a temperature of 180-200 degrees.

Tarte Tatin

The French are known to be big fans of fluffy, flaky pastries. Therefore, we recommend trying their traditional apple pie made from puff pastry.

To prepare you need: 250 grams of puff pastry, 150 grams of sugar, 150 grams of butter, 5-6 apples, cinnamon.

This is why the filling should not be covered. Cooking time is 20 minutes along with the Recipe is uniquely fast.

Place a piece of melted butter on the pan. Place a piece of puff pastry onto a well-greased pan. There is apple filling on top. Apples should be cut fairly large and mixed with sugar and cinnamon. They can be laid out in stripes or arranged in a fan, circle and flower pattern.

The pie is baked in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for ten minutes. Served both hot and cold in combination with ice cream.
