Beef stewed in a slow cooker. Beef stewed in a slow cooker with vegetables

Cut the beef, cleared of films and tendons, into medium, approximately equal pieces. We turn on the multicooker to the “Frying” mode, select the type of product “Meat” - in my Redmond M4502 multicooker this mode takes 40 minutes, but we don’t need all this time.

Place butter in the multicooker bowl, add vegetable oil and, from the moment the multicooker starts counting down time, add the beef and begin to fry the meat.

The beef will release its juices, fry it, stirring, for 15 minutes with the multicooker lid open.

Then close the lid and let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes, when all the liquid in the bowl has evaporated, turn off the “Frying” mode and turn on the “Stewing” mode (for 1 hour). Pour boiled water over the beef and, after the water boils, add vegetables - onions and carrots, cut into medium-sized pieces.

Close the lid and simmer for 1 hour without opening the multicooker. Then open the lid, salt and pepper the meat and, if necessary, add more water.

We put it on the “Stewing” program again (for another 1 hour), if the meat is young - veal, then it is quite possible that it will be perfectly cooked for you in 1 hour. Simmer for another 1 hour and turn off the multicooker. We put garlic or finely chopped wild garlic into the meat, since now is the wild garlic season.

You can serve beef stewed with vegetables with any side dish of your choice. Meat cooked in a slow cooker turns out soft, but not overcooked, tasty and aromatic!

Cooking method

  1. All the ingredients needed for cooking have been prepared, I can start.

  2. At the butcher shop, I bought beef that had already been cut into portions, so I just washed them and dried them with a paper towel. I put the prepared meat in the multicooker bowl, turning it on to the “fry” mode, and without using oil or fat, which I think will please supporters of a healthy diet, stirring and frying it. At the same time, the beef begins to secrete juice and thus practically stews in its own juice.

  3. I don’t salt the meat yet so that it retains its juiciness. As soon as the meat has changed its color, I add a little water (if you have meat or vegetable broth, you can add it), and now I add salt and season with spices.

I switch the multicooker to the “stew” mode and set the cooking time to 1.5 hours.

  4. I’ll prepare the vegetables (this time I decided to add onions, carrots and bell peppers to the meat, but cabbage, zucchini are also great, and in general, feel free to take all the vegetables you love).

I peel and cut the onion into half rings, carrots into rings and sweet peppers into cubes. Since I will have stewed vegetables as a side dish, I chop them quite large.

  5. When the multicooker beeps, I put chopped vegetables in the bowl with the meat, and I try to do this so that the sweet pepper is the top layer, so that during the stewing process it simply does not turn into mush.

  6. Next, I add the tomatoes in their own juice, add more salt if necessary, and leave to simmer for another 30 minutes in the same mode.

  7. Almost at the very end, I add finely chopped garlic to the almost finished dish.
