Nr 18 technical specifications. Vertical water tube boilers

Vertical-horizontal-water-tube water heating boilers →
  • - vertical arrangement of pipes of small diameter (with this arrangement, there is much less deposits in the pipes than with horizontal ones).
  • - water-tube screening of the combustion chamber reduces the specific material consumption compared to horizontal water-tube boilers.

Vertical water tube hot water boilers are heating class boilers. These include:

  • - steel sectional boilers of types “NR” (Fig. 3.33), “NIISTU”, “ZIO”, etc.;
  • - steel monoblock boilers of the “KVA” (Fig. 3.34), “KV-G”, “TVG” types, etc.

Sectional boilers are assembled locally. Monoblock units are supplied assembled and ready for use. Technical characteristics of vertical water tube hot water boilers are given in table. 3.15-3.18.

Rice. 3.33. Vertical water tube water heating boiler NR-18 (steel sectional):

1 – hatch cover for cleaning; 2 – partition made of refractory brick; 3 – pipe section; 4 – gas duct.

Steel sectional boilers operate under vacuum due to the natural draft created by the chimney.

Steel sectional boilers are designed to heat water to a temperature not higher than 115 0C. Sections of the HP-18 boiler are welded from three pipes D 89 mm (vertically installed pipes, Fig. 3.33) and one pipe D 108 mm (manifold), into which vertical pipes are welded at the top and bottom. The inner row of pipes is separated from the other two rows by a vertical partition made of refractory bricks, forming the radiation (side screens) and convective parts of the boiler. From the firebox, high-temperature combustion products flow through the opening into the convective part of the boiler. Going down the convective part, the combustion products enter the flue - 4. From the flue, the cooled combustion products go into the chimney. Steel sectional boilers operate on solid, liquid and gaseous fuels.

"NIISTU-5" 4-7 25-46 7,1 5,5 12 42-78

The efficiency of these boilers is in the range of 80-85%

Rice. 3.34. Vertical water tube boiler – KVA (monoblock)

1 – boiler body; 2 – embrasure; 3 – flue box; 4 – burner; 5 – pipe system.

Boilers of types “KVA”, “KV-G”, “TVG” operate under excess pressure. Excessive pressure is created by air supplied by a blower fan and fuel entering the burner from the fuel distribution device. In the burner, fuel and air are mixed and the entire air-fuel tract operates under pressure. The fireboxes of these boilers are formed by the inner walls of the boiler tube system. The gas tightness of the combustion chambers is ensured by welded membranes installed in the gaps between the pipes. The pipe system is designed to heat water and organize the movement of combustion products in the interpipe space (flow around the heat transfer surface). The pipe system forms the radiation-screen and convective parts of the boiler. The pipe system consists of two annular collectors connected to each other by straight vertical pipes located along several concentric circles in a checkerboard pattern. The upper and lower collectors have stamped tube sheets to which pipes are welded. Ring collectors are usually covered with removable covers.

The disadvantages of monoblock boilers include high thermophysical and thermal stresses that arise in the inter-tube membranes. In order to maintain gas tightness, non-stop operation is preferable for boilers of this type.
