Looking for a couple of new and great iPad games? Don't want to pay money? So you are also looking for great Free Games. Today we will try to help you. In this big article I will try to show you the best free games in all genres - be it strategy, shooter, sports games, casual, physics puzzle, action, RPG, racing, words, sims... We have collected for you only the best, only JUICE from all over the App Store!

All the games we demonstrated in this chart are absolutely free. You can play them without paying a penny, but there will also be “shareware” projects in which, in order to be completely immersed in the game, you need to buy various things for real money or unlock all sorts of things. But even these games will allow you to experience the fullness of the gameplay and decide whether it is worth diving even deeper into the franchise.

So, today we will look at the following categories of free games for you:

Best strategy games for iPad

Spice Bandits
Chillingo Ltd

Spice Bandits is probably the best tower defense game I've ever played. You play as a cute little space pirate who explores a wide variety of places on Earth to collect as many spices as possible for himself. Of course, the greedy people do not intend to share spices with the pirate just like that, so they constantly attack his buildings. You have to defend yourself from people using your alien towers. By collecting spices everywhere, you get the opportunity to upgrade your turrets and buy new weapons. But in order to make upgrades, you also need to get the level necessary for this.

As you level up your character, you receive upgrade points (which can also be purchased with spices) to customize your playstyle. You can improve turret damage, rate of fire and other parameters. The game also has its own store where you can buy spices for real money. In this case, you can get rid of in-game advertising (yes, this is a shareware game).

The game looks great on a tablet, and the developers have done a great job of making the interface and overall graphics fit the iPad's large display. You can use one copy of the game on several platforms, more precisely, simultaneously on iPad and iPhone, and all your progress in the game will be regularly synchronized. This saves you from having to work with the same device all the time. As they say, use what you have at hand. Saving and synchronization work through a cloud service from developers called Crystal. And although the graphics are not yet optimized for the Retina display, an update for this purpose is on the way.

Battle Nations
Z2Live, Inc

Battle Nations is a stunning mix of real-time strategy with the collection of various resources and dynamic military battles. Stylized graphics inspired by classic games, as well as various dialogues between battles, make you remain immersed in the gameplay for a long time. The game supports multiplayer mode, which uses equipment obtained during the single-player campaign. So you'll probably want to thoroughly explore the single-player component of the game first, and only then go into the multiplayer mode.

In Battle Nations, the main currency is Nanopods. This is a standard currency for all games, that is, you spend it on various improvements, upgrades and equipment. Coins can be purchased for real money in the in-game store, earned while completing the game, and also received for watching commercials. The last method is very unusual for a mobile game, but where can one go? Nanopods can be used to speed up various combat missions. For example, for faster healing of fighters or faster training. You can also use this currency to build new buildings, which are often even “supercharged” versions of regular buildings.

The game does not yet provide us with support for the new display of the third generation tablet, but the graphics still look very nice and bright. It is also supposed to support Game Center for achievements and other things, but for some reason it is not working yet. Hopefully these misunderstandings will be corrected soon. Fortunately, Battle Nations is a universal game that can also successfully synchronize saves and all progress with other devices. We should say thank you to our own developer service, who were not too lazy to create a special cloud storage.

Hero Academy
Robot Entertainment

Hero Academy is a turn-based, purely multiplayer strategy game with a tactical twist. You are fighting one cartoon army against another. Each side gains five action points for each successful move, spell, and attack using various units on the board. Each player during rounds has one or more crystals that he must protect. Naturally, the task of both players is to destroy enemy crystals. You can also win by destroying all your opponent's units, as only a limited number are given out each round.

Hero Academy provides an army of Earthlings for free play, but other races such as Dwarves, Dark Elves and Orcs will have to be paid out of pocket.

On the iPad, Hero Academy supports saving via cloud storage, Game Center, and the game itself is universal. That is, as was the case with the previous two projects, you can synchronize your game data via the cloud with different devices. Unfortunately, there is no complete optimization for the new third-generation display here either, since this would require drawing each character in the game anew, since the drawing here is done in a manual style. For this, by the way, the developers deserve special praise - the style in the game is simply excellent.

The best free shooters for iPad

Gun Bros
Glu Games Inc.

Gun Bros is a classic shoot-em-up in which you and your brother in arms (either artificial intelligence or a real partner - it's up to you) break through crowds of enemies on different planets. At each level you receive coins that you can spend on new weapons and perks. You can improve your damage, movement speed, attack speed, health and other characteristics. You also collect a mineral called Explodium, which can be processed into coins. You can buy even better resources to get even more coins later. The latest update brought to the game the ability to play against your friend. This mode is perfect for those who couldn't work well as a team.

Warbucks are a separate type of currency in the game, used to purchase the best weapons. You can get them by purchasing them in the in-game store with your own money, earn them by watching videos with ads, or convert a ton of regular coins.

Like many other games, Gun Bros is not fully optimized for the Retina display, but the Game Center integration works just fine. If you have a lot of friends who love games, then Gun Bros will help you attract them to your new hobby. It's really very easy to invite friends to the game. There are even special rewards for inviting friends and playing with them. Gun Bros also supports saving game data to cloud storage and is versatile.

MetalStorm: Wingman
Z2Live, Inc

MetalStorm: Wingman is a stunning airplane action game with full multiplayer support, AirPlay compatibility and accelerometer and sensor controls. As you play (it doesn't matter if it's single player, multiplayer battle or endless survival mode), you earn coins that you can spend on purchasing different types missiles, machine guns and new aircraft. Airplanes also vary greatly - some provide excellent armor, others control, and still others firepower. But don't hold the trigger down for too long - your ammunition is always limited. If you're not a big fan of shooting at your friends, you can invite them to the game via Game Center to play through the co-op campaign together.

Many special upgrades cost you real money and are sold in bundles for $1. But still, these upgrades can also be earned as you progress through the game - you just need to try.

MetalStorm: Wingman fully supports the new third-generation display, which means the graphics are simply stunning. Co-operative missions, which are very rare in our area, deserve special attention. But there are no cloud data storage functions here, so be aware.

Frontline Commando
Glu Games Inc.

Frontline Commando is a linear third-person shooter where you play as a classic warrior fighting a world of criminals. The game is made in the popular third-person action style today with all kinds of cover and blind shooting. Take cover behind anything with a couple of taps on the screen, pop out from behind them, take aim and destroy crowds of enemies. But don’t really hope that the wall you’re hiding behind will be able to save you - any shelter here can be destroyed. As you level up, you unlock new weapons for purchase, and you also receive gold that you can spend on buying special items. The weapons here are very diverse - assault rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns and grenade launchers. Each gun in the game has its own characteristics - the amount of damage caused, weight, reload speed and aiming accuracy.

You can also increase your survivability by purchasing first aid kits and upgrading your own armor. If the situation becomes too tense, during the battle you can even order an airstrike to clear the desired area. All currency in the game can also be purchased through the in-game store.

Frontline Commando looks great on the new iPad and supports Game Center. Cloud saves work great and will help you always stay in the game. Recently the game received an update to optimize for the Retina screen, one new card for battles and new perks.

The best free sports games for iPad

Baseball Superstars 2012
GAMEVIL Inc.

Baseball Superstars 2012 is a great and slightly wild baseball game with Japanese style characters and dialogue. The game tries to focus our attention on a bunch of different details - such as running speed, fatigue and the force of hitting the ball. But there's also something more arcade-y and cartoonish here - "super players" who wear weird costumes and have weird special powers. The game is controlled by rotating the phone in different directions, but don’t worry - in order to handle the bat, you don’t have to swing the phone from side to side, you just need to press the button on the screen in time. In order to catch the ball, you need to make a couple of tricky movements with your fingers. You will go through a bunch of different challenges and play with your friends online. Personally, I found the game to be incredibly difficult even on medium difficulty, but I think true baseball fans will appreciate the attention to detail here and thoroughly enjoy it high level complexity. I also played a little Homerun Battle 2 Free, and after comparing the two games, I can now confidently say that Baseball Superstars 2012 definitely wins in all respects.

Through the in-game store you can receive G-points, which are spent on various things for characters, perks and other improvements. You can even buy entire upgrade levels at once if you are really lazy.

The graphical stylization of old-school games looks a little angular on the tablet's large display, but the animation still looks very high quality. Synchronization of game data in the cloud only works for those who are registered in the Gamevil system, and integration with Game Center here is only for tracking achievements, but overall the game is excellent.

NFL Pro 2012
Gameloft

NFL Pro 2012 is a full-fledged American football simulator. There are various leagues, playbooks and a bunch of characters and teams copied from real ones. Your players gain experience and level up as they progress. This allows you to improve their skills such as blocking, agility, reaction and strength. While you control a specific player(s), the artificial intelligence of your tablet is responsible for the performance of the rest of the athletes on the team. The controls are very simple, but most of the game time you will switch between players and choose more or less dexterous athletes. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the game there are not so many of them, which creates a certain difficulty.

Each game uses a certain amount of energy, which can be purchased through the in-game store. Experience points can also be purchased along with money for new stadiums, teams, divisions and more. In general, the usual freemium game scheme.

Unfortunately, NFL Pro 2012 does not have cloud saving, although the program is universal. Also, an update for optimization for the new third-generation display is not yet expected, which is very strange, since the game is still from the big people from EA. There's not even Game Center support, and all this makes me think that the game will soon receive a big update.

Real Soccer 2012
Gameloft

Real Soccer 2012 offers a wide variety of game modes in a rich and realistic gameplay design. The controls are based on the usual virtual joystick and buttons for running, passing and kicking, but it is greatly expanded with the help of touch controls - you can make a bunch of different movements and feints. You can unlock many different cups, starting with the international one. The Asian, African, American and European cups are presented here, as well as regional leagues that open as you advance in your career. Just remember that the number of matches your team can complete is directly related to their stamina level. Here, even the loading screens are made wisely - they present various polls on the history of football and the like.

By playing Real Soccer 2012, you earn coins that can be used to buy soccer balls. Balls, in turn, provide various bonuses such as increased experience for matches. The main currency in the game is “Cash”, which can be spent on various perks and improvements. You can even remove all your yellow cards from your game history for a tidy sum of money.

Real Soccer 2012 has the status of a universal game, but is not friendly with cloud saves, Game Center and optimization for Retina.

The Best Free Casual Games for iPad

Bejeweled Blitz
PopCap

Bejeweled Blitz is a lightweight version of the well-known casual game from PopCap. You are given a board with colored jewels, and you can change the positions of any two of your choice so that they match the color of the neighboring ones. Matching lines of jewels explode beautifully and allow you to score a variety of combos. The more jewels that explode at once, the more points you get. The crystals that were above the exploded ones always fall down and take their place. The trick is that each round in the game lasts only one minute, so during the game you need to try to collect as many points as possible. PopCap keeps you in the game with a variety of bonuses and rewards for daily play.

You receive coins for each round (which can also be purchased with real money), which can be spent on all sorts of perks and upgrades. There are even special things like a score multiplier that appears in a random round. Of course, if Bejeweled Blitz isn't enough for you, you can always buy the full version of the game for a dollar, which contains many more game modes.

Bejeweled Blitz has graphics optimized for the Retina display and is versatile, but there is no Game Center support. The game allows you to synchronize your progress with other versions, so you don't have to worry about it.

Trainyard Express
Matt Rix

Trainyard Express is a puzzle game where you draw railway in order to conduct trains from one point to another. The process becomes confusing and complex when you have to understand the different colored lines and carefully plan your movements on the roads.

Trainyard Express is one of the games on today's list that is a "lite" version of the full project that you can buy for $3. But even 60 levels in the free version won't seem like a cakewalk, you know. Once you solve all the puzzles, you'll unlock "expert mode" where every rail is worth its weight in gold and time is limited.

Trainyard Express has a stunning, simple style that's also retina-ready. In addition, there are no annoying advertisements. Unfortunately, there is no Game Center support, but you can share your unique puzzle solutions on the game’s official website or on Facebook. You can also play together, passing your device in turn.

Temple Run
Imangi Studios, LLC

Temple Run is an incredibly simple platform game where you have to run from ancient spirits who are angry that you stole their idol. You need to weave between obstacles, quickly run through turns, roll under objects and jump over gaps using touch controls. Along the way, collect coins, which, by the way, can also be collected through the accelerometer - when the character tilts the phone, he dodges left or right. But basically the game is controlled by finger movements and taps on the screen. The gameplay can get a little annoying if you're unable to deal with a fast-running person, but the game still delivers a lot of the action on screen.

The coins you collect through the levels allow you to buy upgrades, perks and unlock characters, and even exclusive desktop wallpapers.

Temple Run runs great on a tablet, offering us the same incredibly rich gameplay as on the iPhone version. There is also full Game Center support with leaderboards and achievements. The game is universal, but there is no synchronization with another version - the achievements that I received on the iPhone were not displayed on the tablet for some reason. The graphics are not yet retina-ready, but the game still looks very nice.

The Best Free Physics Games for iPad

Cut the Rope: Experiments Free HD
ZeptoLab UK Limited

Cut the Rope: Experiments Free HD is an incredibly popular game that allows you to feed candy to a hungry and cute creature. You cut the ropes that hold the candies so that they can reach the hungry mouth. This, in fact, is the whole gameplay. In order for goodies to overcome various obstacles, you need to use different tools. Before feeding Om Nom, you can collect some stars to get a big reward. But this is a purely optional bonus.

The free version only gets you 12 levels, but the full game with 125 levels costs just $2.

Cut the Rope: Experiments Free HD fully supports synchronization via iCloud and Game Center, which is hardly a big plus for such a small game, but can come in handy if you decide to buy the full version. The game is not optimized for Retina, but it cannot even render properly on a larger and newer display. This is, of course, sad, but the game runs very stable and smooth.

Fruit Ninja HD Lite
Halfbrick Studios

Fruit Ninja HD Lite is a lite version of another very popular game. The gameplay is reminiscent of Cut the Rope, because you also need to move your fingers quickly and cut objects. Only in this case we cut the fruit! We collect combos, get a lot of points and try to avoid the bombs on your cutting table.

In the free version, you get the Classic game mode, where you can only let three fruits fall to the ground. The $3 paid version includes a Zen mode where you have to slice as much fruit as possible in a limited time, split-screen multiplayer, and special fruits like frozen bananas that slow down everything on the screen, allowing you to aim more carefully.

Fruit Ninja looks great on the big screen, even though it's not retina optimized. Fruit Ninja is also not universal and does not have cloud synchronization. There is support for Game Center, but the gameplay speaks for itself - this is one of the most popular mobile games ever.

Angry Birds Free
Rovio Mobile Ltd.

Angry Birds is an incredibly popular puzzle game developed by the Finnish company Rovio Mobile, in which you use a slingshot to shoot birds at pigs placed on various structures. Since its initial release for Apple iOS on December 10, 2009 in the App Store, more than 12 million copies of the game have been purchased. Currently, versions of the game have been released for other platforms, including Maemo 5, MeeGo Harmattan, Android, Bada, Symbian, WebOS, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. Since May 11, 2011, we added a branded version for Google browser Chrome, but also works in other modern browsers. The game has now been downloaded over 1 billion times, making it the most downloaded app on mobile platforms such as Apple's App Store.

I think you understand the full scale of this phenomenon in our world. Angry Birds is not just a game. This is a whole world that includes both games and a bunch of all kinds of merch such as soft toys, accessories and other themed goods.

The free version of Angry Birds includes 24 levels, and to get a ton more, you have to pay $3 for the full version. Please be aware that there are different versions of free Angry Birds available for download. There is one seasonal, and there is another one based on the cartoon Rio. Try playing both if you're looking for variety. But to be honest, it's a shame not to have the full version of this game on your device. After all, it deserved 1 billion downloads for a reason!

Unfortunately, only the last part of the franchise - Angry Birds Space - is optimized for Retina. Developers like to add two magic letters “HD” to the name, but don’t think that the picture here is different from what we’re used to seeing on the iPad.

The Best Free Action Games for iPad

Jetpack Joyride
Halfbrick Studios

Jetpack Joyride is a horizontal arcade game with, at first glance, primitive gameplay. The goal of the game is to fly the jetpack as far as possible and earn as many points as possible. Along the way, the hero will encounter obstacles of the most various types, and over time, the flight speed also increases, which makes the process of survival extremely difficult. For one flight, the player is given one life, in other words, as soon as you get hit by a laser, you will have to start all over again. But in the laboratory in which the game takes place, in addition to jetpacks, they also produce other means of transportation: for example, motorcycles, gravity exo-suits, flying robots and other equipment that sometimes looks very futuristic. During the flight, you can pick them all up and thereby earn an extra chance to break your own record. If during the game you collect not only coins, but also various bonuses, then if you fail, you will be given a chance to at least somehow improve your position and play the slot machine, thus winning money or additional opportunities and abilities. Going through the same locations a dozen times, of course, over time will finish anyone off, but Halfbrick managed to turn these imaginary disadvantages into advantages. Almost every time I start new game, the level will be generated differently and over time it will be quite difficult to notice repeating locations and obstacles. This is where the lion's share of interest in the game is built. Every detail in the game is made by hand, therefore every event or action will affect how the game behaves. There are a huge number of event generation algorithms, and by gradually upgrading your equipment: jetpack and other equipment, the gameplay will only expand.

As in all other mobile games, you can earn coins to buy various upgrades and things. The controls are very simple and rely on pressing a couple of buttons on the screen and a couple of finger movements. Coins earned during the game can also be purchased with your own money. But that’s up to anyone, you know.

Jetpack Joyride features stunning Retina optimized graphics and Game Center support with leaderboards and achievements. This is a universal program, but synchronization, unfortunately, is not entirely stable.

Wind-up Knight
Robot Invader

Wind-up Knight is a classic platformer runner where you have to save the princess. The hero is constantly moving forward, and on his way he destroys evil chickens, defends himself from unfriendly objects falling on his head, and generally tries to survive in all the chaos. During the game, you not only need to fight enemies, but also try to be incredibly fast, because the princess will not wait!

The game's plot is divided into four sections, each of which is a separate book. Each book is a separate world, where everything is different from other books. In each new section you will be able to meet new enemies and, of course, new obstacles. Each book has 12 main levels and one additional level.

At each level you have to collect coins, which will directly determine your final result and the amount of internal currency earned. Also at each level there is a bonus in the form of a postcard/love letter, which is cleverly hidden and sometimes you have to work hard to get it. The game has 50 levels in total, so it’s hard to say that Wind-up Knight is a half-hour game. If you complete a level without collecting any coins, there will be no completion rating for that level. If you completed the level by collecting almost all the coins, then most likely you will be awarded an A rating. For real champions, as always, there is a separate place! If you have collected all the coins, as well as the special bonus, then you can settle for an S rating, the highest rating.

Wind-up Knight supports cloud saving, and the game itself is universal, so you can easily play on any iOS device. Game Center is mainly focused on achievements, but there is no multiplayer at all. It's quite sad because I would love to see myself beating my friends' records every night.

The graphics are very friendly, but rather aimed at children. Yes, and optimization for the retina display is only partial. Wind-up Knight has amazing and sparkling humor, so you will certainly not get bored while playing.

Cordy Sky
SilverTree Media

Cordy Sky is a bouncing game where you play as a cute little robot. You will try to break through an unfriendly planet to your spaceship to continue your flight. Here's the main plot twist: While traveling to Planet 2, Cordy's rocket crashes on a mysterious planet, where he meets a floating robot named Volt, who ended up on the planet many years ago. Together they set off to refuel a huge rocket and continue their journey to distant planets.

The gameplay is a jumping platformer in which you have to jump on a bunch of different platforms. But be careful - if you fall down, you will have to start all over again. The game can be controlled by simple taps on the screen, or by moving your fingers on the sensor. Personally, I prefer the first option, but it’s up to you to choose.

As you progress in the game, you collect gears that can be used to buy speedups, upgrades, or even costumes for your characters. Of course, you can buy gears through the in-game store with your own money, but you can also simply earn them during the game itself. But don't be fooled by the cute graphics - the game presents a good challenge for advanced players!

Cordy Sky is universal, and synchronization is very stable. A fan forum reported at the time that the game was optimized for Retina, but I haven't been able to find confirmation of this information yet.

The Best Free RPG Games for iPad

Dark Legends
Spacetime Studios, LLC

Dark Legends is a free, massively multiplayer game set in a modern world of vampires, zombies and other supernatural creatures. The game was made by the same people who once released Pocket Legends, but this project still looks more ambitious. The structure of the quests in the game is very simple - there is an excellent combination of tasks based on in-game time with the usual RPG rewards, and there are also combat missions that you can complete either through a single player campaign or through multiplayer. Control is based on a standard virtual joystick with quick access to special combat techniques. You can even grab an enemy, suck all the blood out of them, and then chop them into pieces. Chic! Outside of quests, you can freely walk around locations, buy the necessary things, and also look into multiplayer arenas where players fight each other.

Completing missions here consumes a limited amount of energy, which is constantly regenerated (but it can be completely recharged by purchasing premium currency with your own money in the in-game store). The game's special currency can also be used to purchase super items for your hero.

And although there are not so many polygons in the game, the textures are optimized for Retina just fine. There's no Game Center support, but once you're logged into the game, you can switch between your account on your iPad and iPhone.

Six-Guns
Gameloft

Six-Guns is an open-world multiplayer Western. You play as a tough but classic hero from the far west who is genuinely unhappy with all the bad guys populating his hometown. The game is trying its best to bring a piece of the wild west to mobile platforms. The combat is based on shooting from revolvers from a third person. The controls here use a regular virtual joystick and a couple of buttons on the screen. Of course, you will be rewarded for your exploits, and you can spend the accumulated money on any of your needs - weapons, horses, upgrades, women...

Travel through canyons, crypts, deserts, settlements and complete tasks to help unfortunate people. The arsenal of your ammunition is not unlimited, so you need to not waste it, and also take care of replenishing your money bag, with the funds of which you will have to buy new weapons and ammunition. Take on danger in the wilds of the West and always keep your holster open and ready to pull out your revolver and pull the trigger at a moment's notice!

A truly interesting and unusual game for mobile platforms. As with all free-to-play games, there are two types of currency - regular coins and (in this case) sheriff's stars, which can be spent on all sorts of cool things. There is also an in-game store where you can even buy experience points for leveling up your hero and improving your health and armor.

Six-Guns is optimized for Retina, and synchronization works great here.

Heroes vs Monsters
Trinity Interactive Limited

Heroes vs Monsters is a multiplayer slasher game with simple controls, a cute style and tons of customization. You command a group of heroes with different classes. Warriors here inflict maximum damage, doctors try to keep the entire squad in good health, and a variety of classes of heroes try to destroy everything in their path using a variety of means. While exploring the world of the game, you will be able to find many other monsters, heroes to hire for your team, and you will also pump up your level, discover new perks, abilities, improve your characteristics and much more.

The coins you receive during the game are used to buy various equipment for your squad, but you can also buy gold bars through the in-game store. Every piece of equipment you buy will appear on every hero you own. The only drawback in the game is the presence of an advertising banner at the bottom of the screen, which cannot be removed. It's also worth saying. that Heroes vs Monsters is a clone of another game - Battleheart, and if you don't mind 3 dollars, then you will probably want to buy the original source of the idea.

The game doesn't even support Retina resolution, so on this display the game appears with a black border around the image. The game is universal, but there are no cloud saves. But there is support for Game Center.

The best free racing games for iPad

Forever Drive
supermono limited

Forever Drive is a colorful top-down racing game with a cool abstract style. The controls are simple and very transparent for people who are at least a little familiar with mobile games. The number of points you earn depends on how many stars you collect during the trip, but don't get too crazy during the race - you have a limited time to travel through all the tracks. This means you'll need to drive smart and avoid the traffic, which explodes Tron-style.

There are also various weekly tasks that are updated on the Internet, in which you can win special prizes and large quantities game currency. For currency, here, as elsewhere, however, you can buy various unlocks (of which, in fact, there are not so many). But still, most of the unlocked things are awarded for leveling up and gaining experience. Here you can buy car body kits, coloring books and other features for your individuality. If you don’t really care about this, then you can buy it all with your own money through the in-game store.

Forever Drive is a universal game with cloud saving, so you don’t have to worry about this and play on different devices. There is support for Game Center leaderboards, but the graphics are not yet retina-ready. Let's hope that an update for this purpose will be released soon.

Road Warrior Racing Free
Top Free Apps and Games

Road Warrior Racing Free is a side-scrolling racing game set in the style of an apocalyptic future from Mad Max. You drive across scorched earth, using a bunch of different weapons to fight enemies - miniguns, rocket launchers and more. You can only hope that your opponents don't use all this against you. The cars in the game accelerate on their own, and all you have to do is worry about your survival. You will ride on a wide variety of tracks with different difficulty levels and special rules. For example, on some tracks you cannot use weapons.

As you play, you naturally earn coins to buy new weapons, armor, upgrades, and other features. Everything is standard, and you can upgrade your car here too. You can also buy upgrades with your real money.

At the moment, Game Center support is limited to leaderboards only, but the developers promise to expand these capabilities soon. For example, a full-fledged multiplayer will arrive here soon (it is already available on Android). The game is universal, but there is no support for cloud saves. Overall, this is a very fun and addictive game, honestly.

GT Racing: Motor Academy Free+ HD
Gameloft

GT Racing: Motor Academy Free+ HD is a more down-to-earth game. At the start you are put through a full driving training course where you are given different licenses suitable for specific classes of cars. After that, you'll be ready to dive into the world of races, tournaments, invitational special events, and contract completions. The money you earn in the process can be used to buy a Bugatti, BMW, Bentley, Jaguar, Ford, Chevrolet or Audi. There is even the possibility of renting a car for a couple of races, so you don’t even have to spend your hard-earned money sometimes. The game even includes some role-playing mechanics - you are sometimes given tasks, for completing which you will receive special rewards in the form of cars, upgrades, or just a lot of experience and money.

As in all games, you can buy money with real currency in the in-game store. But it’s still better to earn them yourself through backbreaking work.

There is no cloud synchronization, no Game Center support, but multiplayer is still available.

The best free board games for iPad

Poker by Zynga
Zynga

Poker by Zynga is a simple but highly polished multiplayer poker game for the iPad. You can even play with people on Facebook. The game has been out for a very long time, so if you take into account all the updates and additions, you get a very nice picture. You can add your friends to the game, search for tables that suit you based on various parameters, and even give other players gifts for a good game. There is only one drawback in the game - you will need Wi-Fi in order to play with other people.

To begin with, you are given several chips, which you can either win or buy for real money. Or make money by watching advertisements. But when the chips run out, you will have to invest real money in the game, just like in a real casino.

The game doesn't use Game Center and there's no announcement of Retina support, but none of that is that important for a game like this.

Shadow Era
Kyle Poole

Shadow Era is something similar to Magic: The Gathering. A fantasy card game in which two heroes command armies and gather strength to fight their opponents. Shadow era provides a function for trading cards through the “merchant” menu, which allows you to both purchase ready-made game decks assembled by the developers and purchase individual “boosters” with random cards. A nice feature of the application is that the player can do without spending real money to buy additional “packs” and decks - they can be purchased using points earned, so it all depends on your intelligence and abilities. The design of the cards in Shadow Era is simply excellent and will not leave even the most discerning connoisseurs indifferent. At the beginning, you will have to fight with opponents who are provided for by the standard game plot. However, after gaining a sufficient amount of experience, skills and upgrading the main “deck”, it becomes possible to fight with real people on the fields of online battles. It should be noted that when playing online, a defeated opponent is awarded much more experience and money.

In the game, you can purchase booster packs and full sets of cards through the in-game store. This allows you to collect useful set cards that suit your playing style. You can also earn premium currency for simply progressing in the game.

On iPad, the game runs in full screen, is fully Retina optimized, and has excellent Game Center support with cross-platform multiplayer.

BoardBox
Ripe Apps Inc.

BoardBox is a highly polished collection of classic board games, including chess, checkers, tic-tac-toe and even backgammon. There are also more interesting options like Japanese chess, as well as a bunch of other wonderful, but unknown to us games. The game even includes the ability to view game rules via Wikipedia articles.

Unfortunately, the game is fully multiplayer, meaning there is no artificial intelligence. Rumor has it that he will appear in the game soon, but you will probably have to pay your own money for him. The game also has a small advertising banner at the bottom of the screen, which can be removed for $6.

The game only exists in the iPad version, so cloud synchronization is out of the question. There is also no support for Game Center, and multiplayer here works through its own special service.

The best free word games for iPad

Charadium II HD
On5

Charadium II HD is a kind of “words” that are pictures. That is, you are given a group of words, you draw them on the screen, and your network partner tries to guess what these words are. Both players receive points for quick answers, and even lose points for delay. But there are also tips here that will be useful to you in case of difficulties. For special successes you receive stars that appear on your profile. This good way to show off to friends. Charadium II HD is completely free and can be a good alternative to Draw Something. The game is really great, supports many social features and provides a lot of different options - there are many different brushes, colors and other things. All this allows you to truly express your individuality through the game. Among other things, there are a lot of different interesting game modes here - separate online rooms that anyone can go into and start guessing random pictures, also private rooms for playing with friends and standard one-on-one matches.

The free version of the game requires you to put up with ads, but you can purchase the full version for just $3. It’s good that the creators don’t ask for too much money for their creation.

Game Center manifests itself here in the form of achievements and ranks that you earn during the game. The game supports a modern third-generation display, so you can enjoy your art to the fullest. The game isn't universal, but I don't think you'll be incredibly keen to play it on an iPhone.

Words with Friends HD Free
Zynga

Words with Friends HD Free invites you to play against your Facebook friends. These are classic "words" games where you try to make the best combinations of letters presented on a virtual board. If you land on a special square of the board, you can get several clues at once in the form of letters, or even whole words.

Words with Friends HD Free is currently the most popular game in the genre on iOS. But unfortunately, I cannot say that people online play such projects with a clear conscience. There are too many loopholes and opportunities to cheat in these types of games, so be very careful when you start playing something like this. Of course, if you are going to play “words” with your friends, you can count on full enjoyment of the game. But on the Internet, you better know that success often depends not on experience or skills, but on hints.

Words with Friends HD Free is loaded to capacity with various advertisements and in-game purchases. There are different upgrades and perks that help you find words better and more efficiently. Of course, you don't need all this, but you can still upgrade the game to the full version for $3.

The game is full screen for our tablets, there is no support for Game Center, but it is cross-platform and invites us to play with friends on Facebook. Thanks to this, you can choose your opponents wisely. There is no synchronization, but the game is universal and you can log into your account from several devices.

Prose with Bros Free
Evil Laugh Games

Prose with Bros Free is described as an "online competitive poetry simulator." Two players connect with each other via Facebook or just randomly. A set of 50 words is given, and these words need to be put into the most interesting combinations. After composing poems, other players online read them and vote for their favorites. After 12 hours of continuous voting, a winner is selected. Of course, you yourself can vote for interesting works - you will be offered to do this immediately after entering the game. Overall, the experience is very interesting, and there are few places where you will find this - the game truly offers exclusive gameplay. There is even a special robot that can read your texts in a wonderful voice. The game can be saved in the cloud, so don't be afraid of losing your progress on your device.

The coolest thing about the game is the absence of any begging. No advertising, no items purchased for real money. I don't know why the developers don't want money, but I definitely like it.

Prose with Bros Free is a versatile game, and cloud saves, as I said, work great. There is no support for Game Center, but multiplayer feels great here anyway. The graphics here don’t break the mold, of course, but you don’t need much from a game like this.

The best free simulators for iPad

GodFinger All-Stars
ngmoco, LLC

GodFinger All-Stars is a fun small world game where you take on the role of a god on one planet. By scrolling the camera and focusing on certain places, you try to keep an eye on your residents and provide them with everything they need to live. People not only spend your resources, but also produce gold for you, which can be spent on upgrading their own houses and providing all sorts of interesting features to make the little people work better. For example, you can make it rain or shine so that their vegetables grow better in the garden. To do this, you have to create all sorts of magic using your fingers and taps on the screen. This very magic burns special points, which are regenerated over time. Of course, you can buy them with your own money. In addition, there is a special mini-game created specifically for making money.

In general, throughout the game you complete missions, earn experience points and expand your planet. The rendering here is simply fantastic, and the graphics themselves are very bright and pretty.

The game is not universal, but it saves all your progress through its own network on the Internet. You can even visit planets created by your friends. There is no Game Center support, but it's not really needed here. The game doesn't seem to be Retina optimized, but it's only a matter of time.

The Sims FreePlay
Electronic Arts

The Sims FreePlay is a classic life simulation game where you manage the lives of cartoon people. If you are at least a little familiar with the franchise, then I basically don’t have to explain anything. Decorate houses, feed your Sims, entertain them and don't forget to take them to the shower regularly. The latest update added the ability to have children to the game. By completing daily tasks, you receive experience points. As you level up, you unlock new things. Unlike other games in the franchise, The Sims FreePlay takes place in real time. That is, now you cannot rewind time. Keep this in mind, because if your characters go to bed, it will actually drag on for 8 hours.

As you play, you earn points that can be spent on purchasing various useful items for your heroes. You can buy these points for real money, but there is no particular need for this.

The interface looks great on a tablet, but unfortunately, most of the graphic elements are not optimized for Retina. There also doesn't seem to be any cloud saving of progress.

My Clinic
Game Insight, LLC

My Clinic is a comical hospital simulation game where you manage your staff, conduct research, treat patients, and search for new treatments. There are just a ton of illnesses to deal with here. Your patients are sick from a wide variety of infections - from a sore throat to broken limbs. At any time, you can observe a random number of patients who can be treated in a variety of ways, receiving different rewards for this. During every patient's illness, there are times when it is most important to choose the right medicine. If you can do this, the disease will most likely be cured quickly. If not, then... Well, I think you know what I mean. The faster you cure the disease, the more rewards you will receive. As you progress through the game, there are special tasks, for completing which you will receive special rewards in the form of useful things, medicines or advice. The more often you treat the same disease, the better and faster your teammates will be able to treat it. Leveling up during the game allows you to diversify the list of patients and, accordingly, diseases, and also gives you new means for treatment.

The game developers live in Russia, so you can expect a lot of humor and interesting situations from the project. The general gameplay principles here are copied from the game FarmVille, so if you are familiar with this thing, then it will be a little easier for you.

During the game you earn money, which is the main currency in the project. You can buy them with your own money in the in-game store. Money can speed up the recovery process for your patients, or allow you to buy more expensive equipment and medications.

The game only comes in a tablet version, so you may want to put your iPhone aside. There is Game Center support, so you can organize real doctor associations with your friends and even hire them to your hospital. There is no Retina support, but the games look amazing anyway.

In this review, we will look at 35 games for iPhone and iPad that can be called the best, and some of them have become milestones in the development of entire genres. It must be admitted that a number of games in this review have primitive graphics at the Atari level, but brilliant content is often hidden behind the ugly appearance. But there are also games that are impeccable from all sides.

One of the rare examples of a puzzle that can captivate even those who do not like this genre. Small in size math game Threes! implemented succinctly and skillfully, its discreet interface conceals a stylish appeal. Fortunately, the experience is exciting and enjoyable, helped by the cleverness of the puzzles and the wonderful graphics.

The game was named Apple iPhone Game of the Year 2015 and Best Mobile/PDA Game at The Game Awards 2015.

    1. Osmos

An original game built on the Darwinian principle of the struggle for existence at the level of galactic particles. Physics and the principle of absorption of more by less plays a huge role in the process. It is possible to move only in a reactive way - throwing away part of the mass, and therefore, when approaching your victim, you can easily turn into it and be absorbed if you do not correctly calculate your own potential. One of the most atmospheric games for iOS with excellent graphics and sound.

Located in the App Store Hall of Fame, it has been awarded many times, including being recognized as Game of the Year for iPad, Game for iPhone No. 1, Winner of the Apple Design Award, and so on.

    1. Year Walk

An atmospheric puzzle game inspired by Swedish folklore. Here you will have to wander through the dark pre-New Year's forest of the 19th century (and then the trees were very large) along with strange creatures from riddle to clue. In some places the game may seem creepy, but this only fuels interest in the plot of predicting the future and prophecies of love. Interesting graphics and first-person view.

    1. Power Hover

A futuristic runner in a dying world. The action takes place on a planet that was once inhabited by robots. Now their population has been reduced to one representative - you. The protagonist will have a dynamic, exciting and dangerous journey through the remnants of a robotic civilization. This iOS game has a good original soundtrack and the attractive charm of an abandoned world.

    1. Drop7

This abstract puzzle game was included in Kotaku's list of the 12 best iPhone games. Here we will have to deal with the colored balls and the numbers on them, which indicate where this or that ball must stand in order to disappear from the screen. The next balls fall into the empty space. It seems to be a simple and not to say enchantingly colorful game, but it is very addictive.

    1. Boson X

A non-standard runner with now unusual vector graphics. According to the plot, the hero will have to run inside a particle accelerator. At this microscopic level of action, you become a direct participant in physical experiments to create new particles. The game is dynamic at breakneck speed. Despite its ugly graphics, the process is captivating and keeps you in suspense. It’s hard to understand just from the screenshots how amazing this toy is and what’s more, it weighs only 20 megabytes.

    1. Super Stickman Golf 2

This game for iPhone and iPad is based on classic golf. Only the ball will have to be guided to the pocket not through mowed lawns, but through rather tricky levels that can fray a lot of the player’s nerves. In this arcade game you can choose a hero and customize his appearance. The game received the title of Appstore Best of 2013. You need to look for keys to doors, fight off enemies, gnaw through walls, drink potions and collect fruits and flowers to earn more points. The graphics are so retro that it's even surprising, but that's one of the features of this game, which also weighs a ridiculous 3.2 megabytes.

    1. Papers, Please

A totalitarian dystopian immigration inspector emulator. According to the story unfolding in the game, you have to serve faithfully in the border town of Greshtina in the communist country of Arstotzka. Crowds of emigrants are pouring into the country in search of work, a better life, and sometimes just easy dishonest money - these are spies, smugglers and terrorists. Based on the documents provided and a simple system of checking those entering, you will have to weed out those wishing to enter Arstotzka and even issue arrest orders.

Fully Russified. The plot contains 20 different endings. This iOS game has won a ton of awards and accolades (pictured).

    1. FTL: Faster Than Light

The best space battle simulator of its kind. According to the plot, you have to, neither more nor less, save the galaxy! On the ship that you are preparing for battles in interstellar space, you will have to face superior enemy weapons, when the life of the crew will depend only on your skill in the fight for the survival of your leaky (missiles just hit the shields) vessel. The spaceship simulator is placed in a randomly generated galaxy with new enemies and new space roads. The irrevocability of death adds particular tension to the game.

Download FTL: Faster Than Light in the App Store:

    1. Her Story

A game from the developer of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, famous for its unconventional approach to game concepts. Now you have to become a police detective in a small town, where everything is mostly quiet, but once upon a time, a murder happened. You have to investigate it, sitting behind the screen of your old kinescope monitor and sorting through video recordings of interrogations of a woman whose husband disappeared. At the same time, as in the case of a real investigator, the main process of unraveling a tangle of mysteries occurs in the player’s head. The interrogation video was filmed with a real actress (Viva Seyfert, gymnast, drummer and keyboardist in the band Gideon & The Shark), who does not perform well in her role.

    1. LIMBO

A mystical arcade game that takes place in a black and white world - Limbo, which is somewhere between life and death. Add-ons are available that will make you a faster racer for money.

Download Need For Speed Most Wanted in the App Store:

    1. Drop Wizard

Retro with pixel graphics and the recognizable spirit of the hit Nintendo games. The work of the independent studio Neutronized tells the story of a wizard in a pointed hat who goes on an adventure to free his beloved. You will have to run through small rooms consisting of several levels. Having fallen from the lower platform, the wizard falls from above. The game does not have saves at each level, losing all lives and seeing “Game Over” on the screen is easy, but this only intensifies passions. Despite its complexity, the game has wonderfully simple controls.

    1. Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved

A non-standard first-person arcade shooter, the main idea of which is based on sci-fi geometry, which ultimately gives us a pleasure for both the eyes and the mind. Excellent graphics, excellent dynamics and original gameplay have allowed this series of games to win many awards. Before us are a hundred levels that will attack us with an unusual sense of space, lots of lights and a barrage of fire. In the process, you can use the help of drones, which differ in their combat characteristics. You can save your progress to iCloud by watching other players and comparing yourself to the best. There are 12 game modes, each with their own equipment for your ship.

Download Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved:

    1. TouchTone

A puzzle with ascetic graphics, but interesting tasks. In each task of this game for iOS, several figures are given and a task is set that can be completed in one way or another by connecting objects. Knowledge of English will help in the process, but basically everything is intuitive.

    Download TouchTone:

    1. Bit Pilot

Before us is another creation with brilliant gameplay and terrible graphics. The music in this game is remarkable, and in the rare and unpopular chip-tune style, but all the soundtracks will captivate you, even if you are a full-blown pop singer. At the same time, there are hidden tracks that will be revealed only after certain achievements. The action takes place in pixel space, where you have to wander among swarms of asteroids. This game for iPhone and iPad is not demanding on the device and has simple and intuitive controls.

Download Bit Pilot in the App Store:

    1. Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint

If I may say so, this billiards was probably invented by draftsmen; the graphics look too much like some kind of colored drawing. To enter the game, you will need a small number of attempts, which only begin like classic billiards, but end with completely different rules. Depending on the color of the balls, they tend to magnetize to each other in groups, forming geometric shapes, depending on the complexity of which points are awarded. Grouped balls disappear. Touching walls, balls of a different color, and ricochets also matters. For an additional fee, you can buy 80 additional tables, which make the game completely different from billiards.

Download Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint in the App Store:

    1. SpellTower

A word game vaguely reminiscent of Scrabble, or our Scrabble. You can play in four single modes and two-player modes. There is no Russian version, but a thorough knowledge of English is also not required, it is enough to have a dictionary at hand. This iOS game received several prestigious awards in its time. Unfortunately, the product has not been updated for several years, although the authors would do well to improve their vocabulary.

Download SpellTower in the App Store:

    1. PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX

Another reincarnation of the famous Pacman, this time extremely successful and with attractive graphics. The gameplay and visual design are classic at first glance, but it quickly becomes noticeable that both the design and gameplay have undergone significant improvements. So, we run and eat through various labyrinths, of which there are 132 in 10 zones with their own design. The longer we run, the faster, the speed can be increased to crazy speed, but it is also easy to lose it. There are three different game modes. You can compare your results with other players in the world on the leaderboard.

Download PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX in the App Store:

    1. Hitman GO

Agent 47 comes to your iPhone and iPad screens in the turn-based strategy genre. Now the bald killer operates on a board divided into squares by a grid and must think through his every move, like a chess grandmaster. The goals are as usual in the world of intelligence services and crime: penetration into places where one is not allowed, destruction of something or other that is heavily guarded. The game is distinguished by good graphics and a superbly thought-out process, which allows for different styles and methods of achieving goals. The levels have secrets, secret passages, and different types of enemies. Hitman has his own arsenal and skills, including camouflage and diversionary maneuvers.

    1. Splice: Tree of Life

A beautiful puzzle filled with contemplation of life and listening to the most pleasant music tracks. It is necessary to operate on living cells, building ordered structures out of them and creating a tree of life. The game contains more than 75 levels. It may be a little confusing at first, but after a couple of levels everything falls into place with intuitive and simple rules. All components, from graphics and sound to the concept, are top notch.

    1. VVVVVV

Scary primitive retro graphics behind which lies one of the few true masterpieces of bloody hardcore. This stylish creation, long recognized on other systems, has been ported to iOS. The puzzle-platformer takes place on a spaceship that has crashed. Your character cannot jump, but he is subject to gravity, the vector of which he is able to change. For some reason, during the accident, the turbulence of space led to him ending up in another, dark space, where the brave captain Viridian is faced with insidious traps and inhospitable natives, with the help of which he will die countless times. The game's chiptune soundtrack was released as a separate release.

    1. Coolson's Pocket Pack

A weird combination of word game and Tetris. The letters fall down at an ever-increasing speed, and you have to collect them short words, which is not so simple when you look at how quickly the glass is filling and the fiasco is approaching. Stylish design. Opportunity to compare scores in Game Center. There is no Russian language, knowledge of English will be useful at least at the initial level.

    1. Black

Embodied minimalism, which will be addictive and require remarkable brain effort. The logic puzzle involves the abstract action of making a moving black line, collecting colored circles along the way. There are many levels and they are not similar to each other; each can be solved in a variety of original ways. It couldn't be easier to control, but it's quite difficult to navigate. Additional pleasure comes from the opportunity to experiment and the resulting paintings that come to life. The game received a number of prestigious awards.

Download Coolson's Pocket Pack in the App Store:

    1. Shadowmatic

A magical creation full of beauty and tranquility! A beautiful 3D puzzle game with detailed graphics, photo-realistic lighting and meditative music. Light and shadow in this game for iOS are the main thing, because we have to operate with shadows cast on the wall by seemingly abstract objects. The action takes place in 12 cozy rooms, decorated differently stylistically and with different semantic content. The game contains over 100 levels with non-linear progression and tips. The product was recognized as the best game of 2015 in the App Store and also won the Apple Design Award.

    1. Trainyard

A puzzle on the theme of trains and their movement from the starting point to the final point. Several trains are given, which must be carried to their station, and the trains a certain color go to their specific station. They need to be controlled by drawing paths. At first it will be easy, but then you will have to strain yourself, as it should, for example, according to color theory, combine trains. It will also be necessary to undock the trains at appropriate moments. This game for Phone and iPad is addictive and takes you to unimaginably difficult levels that not everyone can complete.

    1. Pinball Arcade

The king of pinball emulators. The developers are proud that they were able to develop the most accurate and reliable virtual pinball machine. Everything here is believable - graphics, physics, sounds, the structure of real pinball tables, among which are the legends of the gaming halls. As you play, new tables will open, and you can also buy upgrades with machines, all of which are exact copies of real patented attractions.

    1. Touchgrind Skate 2

Another realistic emulator, this time of a skateboard. The game offers realistic graphics and physics along with multi-touch controls. This sports masterpiece will primarily appeal to true skate lovers. Those who know how to ride a board themselves will appreciate the complexity and possibilities offered. To simply pass the time, this creation will be a little difficult to control, you will have to master it, not like a real skate, of course, but comparable. But then a wealth of possibilities opens up, including performing tricks, as well as creating your own feints. And all this can be recorded in videos to show off later.

The best games for your tablet Apple.

No one predicted the meteoric rise of gaming on iOS, and we're not sure anyone knew there was an iPad at all before it hit the market.

However, Apple's tablet has become a very capable gaming platform. With a larger screen than the iPhone, it opens up games and makes them much more immersive. Therefore, the iPad is the ideal platform for adventure games, a variety of strategy games and puzzles.

Not sure which iPad is best for gaming? We'll answer that question in the rankings - or you can take a look at our rankings to see the full range of models available now.

But just like the iPhone, there are so many iPad games out there that it can be difficult to find the gems while avoiding the duds. And it's our mission to bring you the very best games for iPad, mixing traditional games with titles that could only appear on a powerful and modern tablet computer.

    | BESTGAMESFORiPad

    SID MEIERS'S CIVILIZATION VI

Sid Meier's Civilization VI in the best possible way demonstrates the iPad's potential as a gaming device. Previous iterations of Civilization on iPad were scary cartoonish and simplistic. But Civilization VI is not the game you play on PC, with all its inherent depth and complexity.

This means you are getting one of the best 4X games (eXplore; eXpand; eXploit; eXterminate). You aim to make your civilization dominant by becoming a trading giant, traveling to the stars, or gaining the strongest army that will leave you alone to rule the world.

The game requires time and attention, is extremely interesting and should captivate you for many months. Developers think exactly the same way when evaluating a game. However, you get 60 moves for free, and the “proper” games cost real money.

The panel is a little blurry on the iPad Pro, but otherwise plays great - this is one of the best games of your life, carefully optimized for the touch screen.

    | THE ROOM: OLD SINS

The Room: Old Sins takes you into challenging rooms with puzzles. Like previous games in the series, Old Sins is obsessed with the impossible. This time you are investigating the disappearance of an engineer and his wife. You see what appears to be a corpse in a gloomy attic and suddenly find yourself in a dollhouse.

And from that moment on, you use everything, touching, swiping, dragging, somehow manipulating objects in search of the best logical solution, until you leave the room. At some point, you'll discover a seemingly endless number of hidden compartments in the tiny model train. Elsewhere, something terrible and otherworldly will scream before forcibly pushing you out of the room.

If you're new to iPad gaming and love puzzles, Old Sins is a hassle-free, sequential game with plenty of puzzles, and none of the tedious walking you'll find in Myst. For existing fans, you've probably already purchased and completed the game a long time ago. If not, what are you waiting for?

    | INSIDE

    [FREE + $6.99 | 420 rub.]

INSIDE is a puzzle-platformer game that follows the adventures of a boy in a frightening dystopia. The game starts with escaping from armed men. You must dodge and hide behind trees, run from ferocious dogs or end up dead.

But death is not the end. Like INSIDE's predecessor, the equally disturbing LIMBO, the hero of this game seems doomed to repeat every failure until he achieves victory.

There is an opportunity to try and reflect on the mistakes you have made. You run around the building, die horribly, make some mental notes, then repeat. Sometimes it gets boring, some sequences in the game are too drawn out, others have too little margin of error.

For the most part, this game intrigues with puzzles and a fascinating - albeit extremely dark - world full of surprises, horrors and tiny victories along the player's path.

    | GOROGOA

Gorogoa is a mysterious puzzle game that plays with your perception of space and also forces you to look for connections between images that aren't remotely obvious at first glance.

It all takes place in a two-by-two grid where comic panels can be opened and manipulated. Often part of the image can be separated and superimposed on another.

For example, moving a staircase may result in main character will reach a previously inaccessible area, and what appears to be a star-shaped decorative element may turn out to be the propeller of an improvised car.

Sometimes Gorogoa outplays you, and later you may find yourself in a mental dead end while manipulating different components, locations and possibilities in your head. But as a tactile, innovative, mystery puzzle game for the iPad, there's nothing quite like Gorogoa, and you'll feel like a genius once you've completed the game.

    | GNOG

GNOG is absurd. The game includes nine floating boxes, which are like gateways to miniature worlds an interactively animated frenzy where you poke, push, knock over, touch and swipe to make things happen.

Your tasks are often quite mundane: fix a spaceship, feed the birds, retrieve a chest from the depths of the ocean. But the presentation is disarming - bold figures, primary colors and a strange sound, like a children's toy of unknown purpose. Things get even more psychedelic when you complete a level and a strange laugh starts to sound in your head.

If the description of this game makes you look thoughtful, just try GNOG and delve into the addictive madness of the game, be an explorer who revels in the joy of discovery. Fire up AR mode to lay out the weird GNOG toys on the table and you'll wish the real toys were half as interesting.

    | THIMBLEWEED PARK

Thimbleweed Park is a love letter to the world of classic point-and-click adventures, developed by two of the smartest minds in the industry. Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick were the brains behind the classic Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island, and Thimbleweed Park is an equally tricky game where you're supposedly trying to solve a murder mystery.

We say "allegedly" because the dead body you quickly find is the least of your problems. Throughout the game, you'll end up playing as several characters, including a fed, an aspiring game developer, and a vulgar clown.

The interface is a bit old, as is the difficulty level. Thimbleweed Park may seem simple and a bit overwhelming. But there are few iPad adventure games that boast this kind of humor, love, and cunning—and none of them feature plumbers who turn out to be paranormal investigators dressed in pigeon costumes.

    | GRID AUTOSPORT

Grid Autospor is one of the first new games for the iPad, where the claim of “console game quality” is not an exaggeration. It's actually a fairly straightforward port of the popular PC and PlayStation racing game, but only for the iPad.

There's no progression or currency clutter here - you can jump straight into everything the game has to offer, choosing from a huge variety of championships, cars and customizations. Everything from fast online racing to a full season of Touring Cars, just to name a couple.

With a wide range of control options and difficulty settings, the game is suitable for arcade racing fans and mechanical racers at the same time. And if you can connect an MFi controller to your iPad, the only thing that will differentiate your gaming experience from that of a console is the screen size.

    | SUBSURFACECIRCULAR

Subsurface Circular exists somewhere in the shadows between novels, short films and video games. The game begins in a sort of compartmentalized automated transit system starring Tacky, androids who have replaced humans in many roles in society.

You play as Detective Tek, who spends his entire life interrogating other Underground Circular robots and uncovering secrets. To say more is to spoil everything from the very beginning, we recommend that you try the story yourself to come to your senses only after several hours of intricacies and twists and turns of the plot.

Despite the story overlay, the game looks excellent, with a huge variety of Techs and a familiar messaging-style interface that has a distinctly futuristic sheen. And if you're concerned about the game's brevity, be warned, you could spend the same money in theaters and not get the same experience.

    | ADVENTURES OF POCO ECO – LOST SOUNDS

Poco Eco's Adventures - Lost Sounds is as much an exploration experience as it is a game. The hero finds a "lost tape" that allows him to speak with spirit guides. They give him a musical task: to return sounds to the earth.

Some may find it pretentious, some may find it "dignified", but Poco Eco looks more like a cartoon. One of your first guides is a huge bear, and Poko Eco deftly wanders through giant landscapes full of flowers and giant musical paraphernalia, bobbing his head to the beat of a soundtrack that evolves as puzzles are solved.

Admittedly, the puzzles are quite simple. Poco Eco is not a game that will make your brain boil to the point of exploding. It is, however, ideal when you want to relax and immerse yourself in music recreated in a wonderful world.

    | STARMAN

Starman is an atmospheric adventure featuring a small astronaut trying to bring light to a monochromatic world. The sophisticated, unpretentious atmosphere is echoed at times by Monument Valley. But the puzzles and slow, slightly choppy movements are reminiscent of 80s isometric puzzlers like Head Over Heels.

Regardless of the influence of other games, Starman is a real pleasure. Every puzzle you try offers something new - and some of them are really clever. The mechanics are never complex, but the combinations will tug at your heartstrings. However, Starman is never unfair - when you're faced with a decision, it will seem extremely obvious.

The only real downside is that there is a chance that the game's lazy pacing will turn some players off. In some puzzles, it can be tedious to watch the astronaut trudge back and forth. But for players who aren't in a rush to close out every game, Starman is a catchy, smart, and memorable experience.

A fairly simple, but very exciting gambling game that is perfect for having fun. Despite the simple gameplay, the gameplay is captivating from the first minutes. The main goal of the game is to guide the bird through the hills, overcoming various obstacles. There are several modes, including a multiplayer mode that allows you to play in real time with your friends. Convenient controls, colorful graphics, high-quality animation will be a pleasant addition to the gameplay.

Fruit Ninja HD, Veggie Samurai HD

Another quite interesting and exciting arcade game is the game Fruit Ninja HD. The game project amazes with its bright, “juicy” graphics, many interesting, rather challenging game modes, and high-quality animation. Depending on the selected mode, using swipes on the screen you need to skillfully cut fruits, berries, vegetables, for example, in a certain time, cut fruits placed in colored circles, and perform other tasks. Each level has its own difficulty, so you shouldn’t expect to quickly complete this exciting mobile toy.

    Angry Birds

In the list of the best games for iPad, one cannot fail to mention such a fun game as Angry Birds. The success of the project inspired the developers to create new parts and currently there are five of them: the Original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons with interesting thematic levels, Angry Birds Rio - an atmospheric video game dedicated to the release of the cartoon Rio, Angry Birds Space, the gameplay of which is complemented by gravity, and also Angry Birds Star Wars. Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim

Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim is a mobile remake of the classic fantasy strategy, which amazes the imagination from the first minutes with its extraordinary, exciting gameplay. The main feature of the game is the lack of direct control over your units. Gamers can only control the actions of their heroes, influencing the course of game events. The missions are quite difficult, but if desired, they can be replayed on a higher difficulty.

The game project pleasantly pleases with its dynamic gameplay, has nice high-quality hand-drawn graphics, smooth animation, and interesting voice acting. The downside is that the controls are not very convenient, which takes some getting used to. It’s quite convenient to give orders and control your troops, but when it comes to intense microcontrol, the controls overshadow the impressions of well-executed gameplay. But despite this, Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim can confidently be called the best mobile real-time strategy game.

    Never Alone: Ki Edition

Never Alone: Ki Edition is an incredibly cool platformer that was released this summer. Despite the variety of video games in this gaming niche, it is unlikely that a more worthwhile similar game project will be released before the end of the year. The game was developed for PC and consoles latest generation and after overwhelming success it was transferred to mobile platforms. The graphic design and gameplay of the mobile version have not changed. The developers managed to completely preserve the style of the game and optimize the controls of Never Alone: Ki Edition for the iPad.

The game will take gamers to the distant Arctic and tell one of the traditional legends of local residents, which tells the story of a brave girl Nana, who decided to unravel the mystery of a prolonged snow storm. Having set off on a journey with the main character and her faithful companion, the white magical fox, players are treated to incredible adventures in the world of virtual reality.

What attracts you in the game is its excellent implementation of extraordinary gameplay and unparalleled visuals. Sound effects, detailed graphics, excellent controls.

    Max Payne

The mobile version of the game project was completely ported to iOS last year and literally in the first weeks after release attracted increased attention from gamers and fans of quality games. The creators of the video game managed to optimize a full-fledged PC hit for mobile platforms.

Max Payne is a mobile shooter that will reveal to gamers the secrets of gangster New York. The gameplay is implemented in the spirit of “gangster action films”. In addition to shootouts, the game features many acrobatic sketches, as well as “bullet time” - moments with time dilation. The style of maximum cinematography of what is happening in a video game is combined with the style of various films and noir films. Moreover, instead of the usual scripted videos to tell the story, the game uses graphic novels.

Despite the dynamic gameplay, the ability to customize buttons, the controls cannot be called convenient. It is also disappointing that the game project did not receive new modes. Only the single player campaign is available for playthrough.

    Infinity Blade 2

The second part of the mega-popular, highly promoted role-playing game with hardcore elements for Apple devices, to which the developers added new content, a multiplayer mode, and worked out the plot and characters in more detail. Users will enjoy excellent graphics, original design and absolutely innovative gameplay.

The gameplay is very dynamic, but is overshadowed by the fact that the game as a whole can be completed in 20 minutes, and after the next resurrection you have to play in the already familiar scenery. Each level can be replayed if desired. Graphics, animation, controls deserve the highest praise.

    Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is an adventure third-person shooter that combines elements of action and car simulator. The game project is a continuation of the legendary game Grand Theft Auto III. As in the previous part, the events take place in the city of White City, and the main protagonist is Tommy Vercetti, who will have to carry out criminal duties. rather difficult assignments of the mafia boss. Essentially, the sequel inherits and improves the gameplay elements of Grand Theft Auto III.

Gamers will find a huge open virtual world to explore and many new game elements. Gangster shootouts, chases in retro cars, meetings with dangerous elements of criminal gangs, an impressive arsenal of weapons, a lot of drive and adrenaline!

    Hunters 2

All interesting, exciting and exciting turn-based strategy, perfectly optimized for Apple devices. Players need to create their own invincible squad of space mercenaries, improving the combat qualities and potential of their units. The game has a visual resemblance to space landings from Warhammer 40k and Starcraft, and the gameplay is in many ways reminiscent of the popular tactical strategy X-COM: UFO Defense and other games of a similar genre. The goal of the game is to protect one of several story or random cards offered to choose from.

Since the project was originally developed for mobile platforms, there are no complaints about touch controls and you can fully enjoy the exciting gameplay. The relatively short campaign is successfully complemented by various single missions of fairly high complexity.

    Rayman Jungle Run

In the list of the best games for iPad, one cannot fail to mention the amazingly beautiful, exciting game with incredibly dynamic gameplay Rayman Jungle Run. When translating a beloved video game into a mobile version, the developers of the game project managed not only to preserve key aspects of the gameplay, but also to supplement the gameplay with new innovations, features, and interesting modes.

Gamers will find many different levels, each of which includes various options passing - races against time, achievements. Excellent bright graphics, high-quality detail of objects, cheerful sound design, convenient design successfully complement the overall impression of the game. Everything in the game is thought out to the smallest detail and this particular project is an excellent option for a great time.

Among the iPad video games that received high ratings are: Tap the Frog, Minion Rush, Arkazoid, Alto’s Adventure. Badland and , Nihilumbra, Plants vs. Zombies, Tower Madness, Craft The World, Sid Meier's Pirates, Final Fantasy Tactics: The war of Lions Bastion.
