Causes of frequent colds in adults: how to strengthen the immune system? Frequent colds in an adult. What to do

Frequent colds can unsettle anyone. If a person is constantly sick, his life turns into continuous pills, drops and mustard plasters, and endless sick leave do not add to him any love from his superiors, nor, of course, any hopes for career. What could be the cause of frequent colds and how can you fight it?

People who suffer from 6 or more colds per year are considered to be often sick, and the cause of colds is almost always a viral infection. Viruses are especially annoying to children; at present, pediatricians include such children in a special group of “frequently ill children” (frequently ill children) and conduct special monitoring of them. As a rule, as children grow and mature, they get sick less and less often, but in adulthood healthy man Ideally, he should not get sick more than twice a year, and the causes of these diseases should lie in the plane of seasonal epidemics of influenza and ARVI.

Alas, unfortunately, few of us today can boast of such good health - according to statistics, the average Russian suffers 3-4 colds a year, and residents big cities, in particular Muscovites, get sick even more often. And above all, this is due to weakening of the immune system, which is facilitated by a number of factors.

What is immunity

Any invasion of foreign material (we call it an antigen) immediately causes the so-called. cellular immune response, expressed in the production of special phagocyte cells that capture and neutralize the antigen. But this is not the only line of defense. There is also humoral immunity, according to which the antigen is neutralized by special chemically active molecules - antibodies. These antibodies are special serum proteins called immunoglobulins.

The third strategy for protecting the body is the so-called nonspecific immunity. This is a barrier formed by our skin and, as well as the presence of special enzymes that destroy microorganisms in the fluids of the body. If the virus has penetrated the cell, this does not mean that it has won - in a person with strong immunity in response to this, a special cellular protein interferon is produced, which is precisely accompanied high temperature.

As you can see, nature provides many opportunities to protect yourself from the aggression of viruses and bacteria. But it is no coincidence that we mentioned that our contemporary, and especially a resident of a metropolis, as a rule, cannot boast of a strong immune system. And there are reasons for this.

Why immunity decreases

The most global reason for decreased immunity is our notorious wrong lifestyle.

Signs of decreased immunity

  • Of course, frequent colds
  • Exacerbation chronic diseases
  • Increased fatigue, and weakness
  • Nervousness, aggressiveness,
  • Gastrointestinal disorders: flatulence, constipation, weak stools
  • Unsatisfactory skin condition: dryness, flaking, acne, inflammation, etc.

One or all of these signs together should prompt you to take preventative measures and help your immune system. There are numerous methods and ways to raise immune protection of your body. And they are all divided into physiological and pharmacological.

Physiological methods of boosting immunity.

  • should in mandatory contain animal and plant proteins (without them, cells of the immune system do not work well), and the entire spectrum of vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins C, A, E and B vitamins.

Proteins are found in meat, fish, eggs, legumes, and nuts. B vitamins are also found in meat and liver, raw yolks, dairy products, wholemeal bread and bran, seeds and nuts. In sprouted wheat grains, vegetable oil and avocado - a lot of vitamin E. Vitamin A is found in any brightly colored vegetables and fruits: carrots, tomatoes, apricots, pumpkin, paprika, and there is also a lot of it in butter, eggs, liver.

Found in citrus fruits, kiwi, sauerkraut, cranberries, rose hips. A sufficient amount of these vitamins is the key good condition cells of the immune system.

It is equally important to regularly drink fermented milk drinks to maintain intestinal microflora.

  • Daily routine and physical activity. The body needs at least 8 hours a day, a reasonable work schedule without overtime after midnight, sports are required (winter sports and swimming are especially good), long walks in any weather. The apartment should be ventilated often, and you should sleep with the window open.
  • Hardening. There are a lot of hardening methods. These include cool foot baths and douches. cool water, and walking barefoot on the grass. The most important thing is to start in the warm season, so that by the winter cold you can give up your favorite woolen scarf, which is so hot, but without it you are afraid of “catching a cold.”

Pharmacological methods of boosting immunity

  • Preventive intake 2-3 times a year of natural: eleutherococcus, golden root, ginseng, echinacea, aloe. According to the dosage indicated on the package, take these tinctures in the morning and evening. In the evening, brew lemon balm or motherwort to reduce the effect of stress on your immunity.
  • Preventively, and especially during periods of massive seasonal epidemics, you can take homeopathic remedies to increase immunity, of which there are now enough.
  • 2-3 times a year take a course (4-6 weeks) of probiotics (Linex, bifidumbacterin, etc.)
  • Question about the use of serious immunomodulators, such as bronchomunal, ribomunil, etc. Be sure to decide only with an immunologist!

Really, what should you do if you get sick often? First and most importantly, it is necessary to strengthen the immune system. But, how? More on this later.

So, what should a person do if he gets sick very often? Not just every winter, but from almost any breeze and during any epidemics, as well as without them.

Until recently, doctors prescribed antibiotics for the slightest reason; even if you are sick with ARVI, even if you have an acute respiratory infection. So why prescribe antibiotics to patients at the slightest inflammatory process, you ask. Why are they poisoning us? The answer is simple. This profitable business. Produce a lot of cheap chemicals and sell them at tens or even hundreds of times more expensive.

Harm of synthetic antibiotics

Unlike the first (penicillin) antibiotics, the new generation of antibiotics have a very wide spectrum of action and therefore they are able to kill almost all bacteria (beneficial or harmful). But that's not all the harm! The worst thing is that pathogenic microflora reacts quite quickly to such “harassment” and adapts to the drugs. As a result, after about 2-3 months, new strains of bacteria that are resistant to the antibiotic you are taking appear in your body. Beneficial microflora do not have such abilities to restore and adapt.

What do we see as a result of such a “vaccination”? Pathogenic microorganisms become stronger, they bombard the body weakened with our help (we killed the beneficial microflora) ... and, further, various kinds pathogens, there is a great opportunity to settle in our body and destroy it in more and more new ways. Here you have the most severe diseases, immunodeficiency states, senile diseases at a young age, malignant neoplasms, and so on.

If you get sick often, there is a way out - natural remedies

I wonder what gift you would give to a very important person? In biblical times, some incense and spices were worth their weight in gold, so they were even presented as gifts to kings. It is not surprising that among the gifts that astrologers brought to the “king of the Jews” (Jesus) were incense.

The Bible also says that the Queen of Sheba, while visiting King Solomon, gave him, among other things, balsam oil (2 Chronicles 9:9). Other kings also sent Solomon balsam oil as a sign of their favor. In the past, balsam oil and wine were used for many purposes, including medicinal ones. Until now, nothing better than existing essential oils has been invented against many types of fungi and other harmful microorganisms. Many of them are more powerful than the strongest antibiotics. You can notice this if you watch the popular science film “Mold”.

Natural antibiotics and antioxidants are indeed a solution for those who get sick very often. Plus, we could recommend heat treatment, because even cancer can be treated with the right temperature!

And also pay attention to immunomodulatory drugs that have no contraindications. IN Lately scientists are working in this direction to help the human body on our own quickly cope with illnesses.

Also pay attention to POLYOXIDONIUM. But let’s return to natural substances that improve immunity. Along the way, I would like to note that the article is of a general, advisory nature, and each person’s body is individual, therefore, do not forget to consult a doctor before you start using the very active substances obtained from the plants described below.

Of course it's all about natural antibiotics It’s simply impossible to cover in one article, so for now, let’s take a closer look at the two that I personally use all the time. Please pay attention to the key word “constantly”. Nowadays, with our ecology, which is only getting worse year after year, and taking into account the fact that we are not getting younger, but on the contrary, use active plant matter necessary CONSTANTLY, and for those who are often sick, it will be especially important to learn about TURMERIC And CINNAMON.

The beneficial properties of turmeric are undeniable, but not because of the content of such substances as: vitamins K, B, B1, B3, B2, C and trace elements: calcium, iron, phosphorus and iodine. They are there, but in microscopic doses. Turmeric is useful and unique because of its curcumin, which has long been of interest to medicine. During scientific experiments in vitro on cell cultures, curcumin has shown the ability to induce apoptosis cancer cells without cytotoxic effects on healthy cells. The use of drugs containing curcumin not only stopped growth, but also prevented the emergence of new malignant tumors!

Thanks to the presence of others useful substances in turmeric, it is very useful for the gastrointestinal tract, metabolism, cleansing and rejuvenation of the body as a whole. Since turmeric is a plant from the ginger family, its properties are very similar to ginger. Their general property– break down fats and speed up metabolism, which, by the way, also strengthens the body in the fight against diseases. Curcumin, which is part of turmeric, not only helps in the breakdown and absorption of fats, but also prevents the formation of fatty tissue.

Thus, a person who regularly consumes turmeric strengthens the immune system in two ways:

  • he cleanses his body. And he, in turn, getting rid of toxins, unnecessary fats and their compounds with water (cellulite), stops accumulating toxic substances;
  • exterminates pathogenic microorganisms due to the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of turmeric.

If you constantly use turmeric, you will help your body look younger, lose weight and not get sick.

As a natural antibiotic that stimulates brain function, turmeric breaks down proteins that block brain function. Therefore, turmeric is used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and is recommended to combat it as an antidepressant. Preparations from turmeric and other biologically active plants are especially useful in the fight against. Turmeric helps mitigate the effects of radiotherapy used in treatment oncological diseases. Turmeric is also used in the rehabilitation of patients with liver cirrhosis. There are also cases where intensive use of turmeric helped patients with encephalitis survive.

But that's it positive properties Turmeric has not yet been fully studied, so experiments with this plant and the substances isolated from it continue and will continue for a long time. Here, in a nutshell, is some more information about what else is known about beneficial properties and the results of turmeric consumption. She:

  • is a natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent used to disinfect cuts and burns.
  • stops the development of melanoma and destroys its already formed cells.
  • with cauliflower prevents or delays the development of prostate cancer.
  • natural liver detoxifier.
  • halts the progression of Alzheimer's disease by removing deposits amyloid plaques in the brain.
  • can reduce the risk of leukemia in children.
  • powerful natural remedy, which helps with inflammation and does not give side effects.
  • prevents the development of metastases in cancer patients various forms cancer.
  • slows down the development of multiple sclerosis.
  • How good antidepressant widely used in Chinese medicine.
  • during chemotherapy, it enhances the effect of treatment and reduces the side effects of toxic medications.
  • Possessing anti-inflammatory properties, it is effectively used in the treatment of arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • can stop the growth of new blood vessels in tumors and fatty tissues.
  • are underway Scientific research about the effect of turmeric on pancreatic cancer.
  • Scientific research is underway on the positive effects of turmeric in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
  • relieves the condition of itching, boils, eczema, psoriasis.
  • facilitates the healing of wounds and promotes the regeneration of affected skin.

Personally, I have already been able to experience positive influence turmeric. Specifically, this was reflected in increased immunity, improved gastrointestinal function and rapid suppression of inflammatory processes that had been bothering me for more than two years. Moreover, I didn’t take turmeric for that long, only about two months and only in two variations: powder and essential oil. Turmeric is available for sale in different types: roots, powder, essential oil, turmeric supplements, etc. For your convenience, I provide links to some sites where you can buy almost all of the options listed.

Where to buy turmeric

Turmeric is also called Turmeric. It is her international name. This is how it is indicated in products, for example as a dye. Turmeric is also called turmeric supplements. Also the word turmeric in English language you should see on natural turmeric essential oil. If this word is not there, then it’s a fake, even if it says “100% natural.” So where to buy? You can simply follow the links below, register, enter the desired product in the search and add the selected item to your cart. And as a bonus, you will also get a discount!

Temperature changes in the autumn-spring period become a test of strength for many. The body, accustomed to the summer heat, is suddenly attacked by cold air and piercing wind. Often the result is numerous colds, sometimes requiring long-term treatment and nervous and financial costs.

Definition of disease

What is meant by the everyday word “cold”? There is a whole spectrum that occurs as a result of hypothermia of the body, or acute respiratory infections. Colds are usually accompanied by inflammation of the mucous membranes, which invariably leads to rhinitis. People often refer to colds as colds, which is fundamentally wrong, since these diseases have pathogens - viruses.

Colds develop gradually, while viruses most often strike suddenly, accompanied by a jump in temperature. When you have a cold, the following symptoms gradually increase:

  • Increasing runny nose, sometimes sore throat;
  • When the swelling moves from the larynx to the bronchi, a cough begins;
  • Signs of general malaise: weakness, aches, lack of appetite;
  • The temperature does not rise above 38°C;

Respiratory disease, if ignored, becomes the cause of bronchitis, sinusitis, otitis, rhinitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia, laryngitis, pharyngitis.

Frequent colds are the result of malfunctions in the human immune system, caused by a variety of reasons.

Reduced immunity is the cause of frequent colds

Immunity is given to a person from birth, and when resistance to disease has high threshold, they say that a person is in good health. In fact we're talking about about the level of immunity, because it is the main barrier between the human body and numerous pathogenic microbes.

A high level of immunity can be provided at the gene level (hereditary) or simulated artificially (). Sometimes immunity to a disease is acquired as a result of past illness(acquired immunity).

If for a number of reasons, or even just one, the functioning of the immune system is disrupted in at least one link, human body begins to fail during disease attacks on different areas, and one of the first to be affected is the upper respiratory tract, the gateway of infection to the body. The result is frequent colds, up to 4-6 per year.

Signs of reduced immunity

Determining a decrease in immunity on your own without additional research is quite problematic, but there are a number of signs, the presence of which may be a reason to consult a doctor:

  • Deterioration general well-being (chronic fatigue, weakness, headaches, aches in muscles and joints);
  • Condition of skin, hair, nails(pallor and flaking of the skin, swelling under the eyes, dry and brittle hair, falling out a lot, pale and brittle nails);
  • Prolonged and acute respiratory infections;
  • No fever with a cold;
  • Exacerbation of chronic diseases and an increase in the number of new diseases.

A decrease in immunity is indicated by the occurrence autoimmune diseases and frequent allergic reactions are evidence of incorrect functioning of the immune system. The reasons for this may be the following:

  • Unbalanced diet;
  • Lack of physical activity;
  • Unfavorable living conditions (lack of sleep, overwork, poor environment);
  • Uncontrolled use of antibiotics.

Reasons for decreased immunity also include increased hygiene levels in modern conditions life, which leads to “unemployment” and, as a result, a weakening of the immune system. Often these same reasons cause allergic reaction when the subject of attack immune cells become harmless antigens - pollen, house dust, volatile substances from cosmetics and perfumes.

Possible complications

The consequences of decreased immunity are manifested in increased vulnerability to various infections and, in particular, colds. Endless acute respiratory viral infections and acute respiratory infections attack a weakened body and do not receive proper resistance. As a result, there is a need to use increasingly stronger drugs, which, in turn, further reduce immunity.

Lack of immunity often causes autoimmune and allergic diseases. Most often, due to dysfunction of the immune system, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid diseases joints.

How to boost your immunity

Raising immunity is a complex and painstaking task, which includes a number of measures aimed at eliminating malfunctions in a certain area of the immune system. Only a qualified specialist can determine this area.

Carrying out measures to boost immunity must be agreed upon with the attending physician or (in the case of drug therapy) immunologist. Self-medication is fraught with unpredictable consequences for the immune system and the whole body.

Hardening

To obtain the desired effect from hardening procedures in order to increase immunity, it is necessary to have an understanding of the hardening mechanism. When certain areas of the skin are exposed to sudden cooling, the body seeks to reduce heat loss by draining blood and lymph from the cooled areas and constricting blood vessels. As a result, tissues are rapidly cleansed of toxins and dead cells, they become healthier and rejuvenated, and their resistance increases.

However, for the body this is a significant expenditure of energy; the load falls on the kidneys, liver, and lymphatic system. And if a person does not have an energy reserve, then during hardening the resources necessary to activate the body’s work can exceed the body’s capabilities. The systems are overloaded, and instead of gaining health, a person gets an illness, often associated with a cold.

Before engaging in hardening procedures, you need to feel and accept the principles of hardening:

  • Reconsider life priorities and tune in to believe in vitality human body;
  • Plan the intensity and duration of hardening procedures based on the sensations of your body, observing the measure;
  • Follow the principle of gradualism - the body must withstand loads at an increasing pace, and not take a record barrier on the fly, otherwise there is a risk of injury instead of a high result;
  • Like any healing procedures, hardening will give results only with regularly carried out activities. One missed procedure (like taking an antibiotic) can negate previous results;
  • Even with good health hardening activities lead to significant energy consumption, so after the procedures it is necessary to replenish them - rub yourself with a hard towel or warm up under a hot shower (in a bathhouse), and then dress warmly.

Hardening is one of the fundamental principles of increasing immunity, but the approach to it should be as thorough as possible, since hardening procedures carried out illiterately can cause harm.

Physical exercise

Movement is life, one of the most insidious enemies of modern man is physical inactivity. This also affects the immune system. Without movement, the rate of blood circulation decreases and lymphatic drainage slows down. This means increasing slagging in the body and a lack of necessary tissues nutrients, which leads to immunodeficiency.

However, like hardening, physical activity should be observed in moderation, again based on the body’s resources. For example, for retirees aged 60–70 years, 15 minutes of daily exercise is enough to significantly reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

A young body is capable of withstanding much stronger loads, but even here it is necessary to know the line beyond which overload begins, and, therefore, harm instead of benefit. Intense exercise for 1.5 hours makes a person susceptible to illness in the 72 hours after exercise.

Like hardening, physical activity gives positive results only in compliance with the principles of proportionality, regularity and gradualism.

Medications

TO medications Doctors resort to boosting immunity in the most severe cases. This is explained by the fact that the mechanism of operation of the immune system has not been sufficiently studied; exposure to some components can lead to inhibition of others.

However, there are several groups of drugs prescribed for decreased immunity:

  • Herbal immunostimulants: eleutherococcus, ginseng, Schisandra chinensis, Kalanchoe, Echinacea, Rhodiola rosea, hawthorn, aloe;
  • Preparations of animal origin: thymalin, timaktide, thymogen, myelopid, T-activin, vilosen, immunofan;
  • Products of microbial origin: Bronchomunal, Imudon, Likopid, IRS-19, Pyrogenal, Ribomunil;
  • Interferon inducers(stimulants): Amiksin, Dipyridamole, Lavomax, Cycloferon, Arbidol, Kagocel, Neovir.

All medicinal drugs to boost immunity have side effects, and self-medication with these drugs is fraught with unpredictable consequences.

Traditional medicine

Folk recipes for boosting immunity include products containing various vitamins and microelements necessary for the full functioning of all body systems. First of all, you should create a diet that contains in sufficient quantities:

  • Water (2.5 – 3 l);
  • Dairy products;
  • Garlic;
  • Berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries), fruits (apples, persimmons, bananas, pomegranates), vegetables (carrots, Bell pepper, pumpkin, zucchini);
  • Seafood and sea fish;
  • Nuts and seeds, honey and bee products;
  • Meat and fish, legumes and eggs.

Each product contributes to the chain of normalization of processes in the body, including immune ones. There are a number of recipes for boosting immunity:

  • Chopped ginger root(about 2 cm in length) boil in 2 liters of boiling water for about 10 minutes. Drink a glass twice a day with the addition of honey and lemon;
  • A mixture of honey and crushed beebread is taken 1 tsp each 3 times a day a quarter of an hour before meals;
  • A decoction of rose hips (boil 100 g of fruit per 1 liter of water for 5 minutes) is left for 8 hours to infuse, take 1 tbsp. l. after meal;
  • Boil a glass of unpeeled oats in 800 ml of milk for 2 minutes, leave for 30 minutes. , filter and squeeze. Drink 200 ml of decoction 3 times a day. per day in 30 minutes. before meals, course of treatment – 2 months;
  • Make a mixture of 5 g mummy, juice of 3 lemons and 100 g crushed aloe leaves, leave for 24 hours in a dark place and take 3 times a day, 1 tbsp. l.

Folk recipes include various products who may have unfavorable side effect specifically on your body. Before using them, try to obtain comprehensive information about the components.

conclusions

Methods of healing the body and increasing immunity undoubtedly play a role important role V . However, there are still factors that have a great influence on the body's resistance. The main ones are bad habits and constant stress.

The life of a modern person, due to the increasing informatization of all aspects, is constantly accelerating. Nervous system cannot cope with the amount of information being absorbed and often fails. We begin to get upset over trifles, we are always irritated, we are in a hurry to get somewhere and always don’t have time. But fortunately, there are no reasons for stress Everyday life A little.

Don’t give diseases an extra chance, help your immune system – and it will respond to you with good health.

It was draughty, my feet were cold, I didn’t dress well, I over-insulated myself, there were all kinds of microbes all around, weak bronchi, weak ears... There are so many other reasons! For a person who often suffers from colds, no matter how careful he is, there is always and everywhere a reason for another acute respiratory infection, bronchitis, otitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis. And so on endlessly from month to month, from year to year, and, as it turns out, the vast majority of such unfortunates are not helped either by hardening (how to harden yourself if you are always in a state of a cold?), or by various rinses, or by drinking special herbal teas, nor various measures to increase immunity. This is not an empty statement. At one time, when I was quite seriously ill and had many different complaints and diagnoses, I was constantly in a state of cold for about two years. In addition, I have many patients, and especially children, who suffered from various colds 10-20 times a year and were convinced of the ineffectiveness or low and only temporary effectiveness of the usually offered preventive measures on myself. There is another group of unfortunates - they do not necessarily get colds often, but they take a long or very long time to get out of it, they all cough and blow their nose, sweat and never gain strength.
The generally accepted idea of low immunity or weak mucous membranes as the cause of the problem in such cases is erroneous. This is confirmed by many of my patients, children and adults, who have gotten rid of frequent colds of various types.

Long-term practice of integral systematic approach allowed me to establish that the main cause of frequent colds is allergy, that is, not reduced immunity, but increased reactivity of the body, and primarily of lymphoid tissue respiratory tract. I can say even more categorically - without allergies, chronic or frequent rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, otitis simply do not exist. Moreover, it should be borne in mind that allergy does not necessarily have to manifest itself in hives, intolerance to any product, or in some other obvious external way. Chronic edema the lymphoid apparatus of the mucous membrane with disruption of blood flow, lymph flow, metabolism, easy addition of infection is one of the variants of obvious allergy along with classic urticaria.

However, such a fundamentally important statement is only the first step towards effective treatment patients with this problem. Naturally, the question arises: what is the cause of allergies in each individual person? Those who have any obvious allergies naively say that the cause of their allergy is either pollen, or cold, or chocolate, or eggs, or strawberries, or washing powder... However, all this is never the cause of allergy - these are only provoking factors, and the reason is a dysfunction of certain organs designed to provide an adequate response to various allergens. Those whose such organs function poorly (and are not necessarily clearly sick) suffer from increased allergies. The too frequent helplessness of doctors in cases of frequent colds is explained by the fact that in such cases there is a struggle either to increase immunity or to strengthen “weak” mucous membranes, while the culprit organs remain outside of attention. Firstly, this happens because a person is not considered as a single system in which the mucous membranes and the immune system do not exist separately from all other organs and tissues, and secondly, because changes in organs, even when thinking about them, are assessed from the point of view: whether they are sick or not sick, while they may not be sick or healthy, that is, changes in them may have the nature of dysfunction.

A systematic approach naturally implies that, despite the priority contribution of allergies to frequent colds, a certain role also belongs to other disorders in the body that negatively affect metabolism, blood circulation, detoxification, and regulation.

So what is the cause of allergy itself? The fact is that, despite typological disorders in the body of all such people, the cause is always not only complex, but also individual. This is where one of the fundamental methodological principles of medicine comes into force: treatment must be preceded by individual diagnostics in direct contact with the patient. It is in this case that both the main link and all the accompanying or aggravating moments in a given patient can be established.

I would like to note that I could describe here in sufficient detail the key typological causes of allergies and frequent colds, however, this would be too much for a popular publication complex description, and besides, this is my know-how. In medicine, know-how exists not only and not so much as a commercial category, but as a way to avoid discrediting a method or approach through incorrect or dishonest use. The effectiveness of a method or approach can only be assessed when the author applies it.

Despite the above, I will nevertheless give in this chapter recommendations for combating various common colds. I have no doubt that if they are carried out carefully, many will achieve remarkable results, although maximum effectiveness is possible only after direct work with the patient.

So, the first thing that needs to be observed is limiting obvious allergens. Here we mean not only what causes you an obvious allergy, but also what increases the general allergic background in all people: chocolate, citrus fruits, white sugar, a lot of fish, a lot of eggs, a lot of white chicken meat, strawberries, lots of honey.

Next, alternate between days taking either before bedtime or 1 teaspoon castor oil, either 1-2 tablets of allochol, or 2-3 tablets activated carbon(for children, respectively, 1 coffee spoon of oil, 1 tablet of allochol, 1-2 tablets of activated carbon).

Every day after lunch or dinner, apply a warm heating pad to the liver area for 10-20 minutes (right costal arch area).

Massage the back of the head and neck with your hands or a soft massage brush 1-2 times daily, as well as massage the upper back (above the waist) with your hands or any massager or towel. In the evening, apply a warm heating pad to the upper back for 10-20 minutes.

Take a warm bath with thyme 1-2 times a week. For a bath, you can use a decoction (from a handful of herbs) or essential oil of thyme (3-5 drops), or you can simply rinse after washing with a decoction of thyme from a jug. Children should take 2-5 drops of oil for their bath, depending on their age.

Regularly conduct special acupressure- acupressure. Unfortunately, I cannot give individual points for each point in absentia, so use the recommendations on acupressure given, for example, in brochures on Shiatsu (Shiatsu). Of course, the effect will be less, but that’s what they are for. There are two principles here: the points should be massaged until it hurts for 20 seconds to 1.5 minutes, and the more often the better, that is, you can do it up to twice daily. However, there will be a good effect if you perform acupressure at least 3-4 times a week. Acupressure can be difficult with small children, but it should still be done as it comes. Naturally, little ones should not massage the points too much.

Practice regularly special exercises from hatha yoga - asanas. First of all, do birch tree, headstand, dog, snake, grasshopper poses. There are also two principles here: frequency - the more often the better, but at least 3-4 times a week is not bad; and the second principle is non-violence, that is, perform asanas in such a way that there are no unpleasant or pain. Even if at first you perform the asanas clumsily and for a very short time, or even just imitate them. For young children, it is advisable to turn classes into a game and, since they are unlikely to be able to do everything correctly, at least imitate the asanas.

Finally, regularly practice contrast procedures (showers, douches, rubdowns). The most important principles here are non-violence and “the more often the better,” although two to four times a week is sufficient. Don’t perform heroic deeds, you don’t have to douse yourself for a long time, many times and very cold water. You can do two or three contrasting dousing cool or even slightly cool and hot water. The point here is not in hardening in the sense that it is usually understood, but in training those complex mechanisms, which, among other things, are involved in the formation of adequate reactions to exposure to allergens.

So, you have received a clear, simple and harmless program for working on your problem. Of course, after direct diagnosis, this program would be more accurate individually and somewhat more extensive (I cannot give some recommendations without direct diagnosis). However, the above will be enough for many of you to be able to radically solve your problem, since these recommendations, no matter how simple and far from the respiratory tract they may seem, nevertheless affect the key, causal mechanisms of the formation of frequent colds.

I will add that at the same time they can be useful homeopathic treatment, any physical exercise, regular consumption of restorative herbal teas.

Everything said above about frequent colds fully applies to frequent and chronic otitis media, bronchitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis. Acute otitis media or sinusitis, bronchitis can occur only once in a lifetime, as a result, for example, of severe hypothermia, weakening of the body, but frequent and chronic - only as a result of allergies. Even the so-called obstructive bronchitis, in fact, is really only “so-called”. In this case, there are actually no real gross organic obstructive changes in the bronchial mucosa. With bronchoscopy, you can see the unevenness of the lumen of the bronchi, foci of inflammation, atrophy, hypertrophy, but this, again, is a consequence allergic edema, hypertrophy of the lymphoid tissue that permeates the mucosa, and only secondary focal inflammatory and atrophic changes. Secondary, because in the edematous tissue blood flow, lymph flow, metabolic processes, regeneration. Just like from frequent colds with the onset systemic therapy Almost always, no trace remains quickly, the signs of obstructive bronchitis go away relatively quickly, otitis media, sinusitis stop, and even in cases of long-term bronchitis. The only exceptions are cases of sinusitis, when previously surgical interventions, as well as cases of bronchitis, accompanied by foci of fibrosis (sclerolysis) after suffering in the past very severe acute bronchitis. Any former traumatic surgical damage to any organ makes it difficult to work with it in the future, and the former severe inflammatory process, often leaving fibrous foci, creates a chronic focal difficulty in blood and lymph flow, metabolism, discharge of natural secretions, regeneration, which creates a focus of the nutrient medium for secondary infection (infection is not the cause of the diseases under discussion, as is commonly believed, microorganisms simply multiply with pleasure in stagnant tissue). In these cases, treatment is also effective, but often takes much longer. Sometimes it is not even possible to achieve an absolute effect due to poor resorption of fibrous tissue.

In general, as a rule, my patients with frequent colds, especially children who used to get sick ten to twenty times a year, or even almost always have a cold, already in the next year have a cold only 1-2-3 times and get sick easily and not like before, for two or three weeks, but for two or four days. Incredible, but this is reality, while modern medicine practically powerless in such cases. When I pick up articles by luminaries in the field of combating common colds, articles written by highly scientific “calm”, in which hundreds of indicators are analyzed immune status in such patients, and in the end there follows a profound conclusion that, apparently, we still cannot find the last one or two indicators to understand everything, but when supernova devices and tests appear, we will find these indicators and easily solve everything problems - I feel scared for modern medicine.

However, let's finish talking about treatment, and I want to make one last important point. Be patient! Despite the fact that most of my similar patients good results appear, as I said, quite quickly; with correspondence treatment, taking into account its not entirely individual nature, it may take a little longer. Be punctual and patient, and your colds will become easier and easier and come less and less often.

You can often hear from people: “I often get colds, what should I do?” Indeed, statistics confirm that there are more and more people with such complaints. If a person catches a cold no more than six times a year, then this can be considered normal. If this happens more often, then it is necessary to find out the reason.

A persistent cold may occur due to uncontrolled intake antibacterial agents, self-medication and negligent attitude towards one’s health.

Terminology

To understand why you often get colds, you need to understand the terms. The most common diagnosis is acute respiratory infections. The word “respiratory” in the abbreviation means that the inflammatory process occurs in the respiratory organs. And this is not only the throat, but also the nose, pharynx, larynx, bronchi and alveoli of the lungs.

The diagnosis of ARVI is only a type of acute respiratory infection. In both cases the reason inflammatory process are viruses that entered the body through airborne droplets or other household routes.

Most often, the diagnosis of ARVI is made in cases where (in addition to a runny nose and sore throat) a dry cough appears, but without any abnormalities (wheezing) in the pulmonary system.

Influenza is classified as a separate category of acute respiratory infections. The disease is more severe and there is a high risk of complications. Influenza is also characterized by a slightly different development of pathology. At first, there is severe intoxication of the body with an increase in body temperature, and only then catarrhal signs appear: inflammation of the mucous membranes.

Formally, pneumonia is also a type of acute respiratory infection, but still it is separate species disease, which is most often a complication of respiratory.

The common term “cold” is just a popular name for acute respiratory infections.

But the most important thing that all these diseases have in common is two ways of infection. Or an infection enters the body by airborne droplets, or under the influence of cold, immunity decreases and the viruses that are in the body are activated.

The first step to health

If you are concerned about why you often get colds, it is recommended to do an immunogram. This procedure allows you to determine whether viruses are really causing everything or whether something else is developing in the body. pathological process, not related to acute respiratory infections.

What other tests should I take?

The standard set of examinations includes:

  • urine and blood analysis (clinical general and biochemical);
  • analysis of immune and interferon status;
  • analysis for the presence of infections: streptococci, mycoplasmas and staphylococci;
  • You should also check for allergens.

All these examinations will make it possible to find out the reason why a person often suffers from colds.

It wouldn't hurt to do an ultrasound abdominal cavity, examine the liver, because it contains enzymes and proteins that stimulate the formation of cells of the immune system. It is also recommended to examine gallbladder and ducts, there should be no constrictions there.

Most common reasons

If a cold occurs 2 or 3 times a year, then this is not a cause for concern. If acute respiratory infections occur more than six times a year, then this is a cause for concern.

In most cases, complaints about frequent colds can be heard from city residents. This is due to the fact that people in cities are socially active, and poor ecology weakens immune forces.

Colds often appear during pregnancy. This is due to the same weakening of the immune system.

Psychosomatics

Recently, doctors have been sounding the alarm: many people develop acute respiratory infections due to psychosomatic problems. Constant fatigue, dissatisfaction with life, I just want to turn off the phone and lie in bed. Most likely, every person has encountered this condition. And then there’s the cold, but you still have to go to work or school.

It may seem that there is no connection between fatigue and the seasonality of acute respiratory infections. In fact, the connection is direct. In autumn, the body is weakened after vacation and holidays, there is a constant lack of vitamins, and even periodic cold snaps. Almost the same thing happens in the spring: after a long and cold winter.

It is also believed that the increase in colds is associated with a decrease in daylight hours. It is in the fall that depression and melancholy begin, and the body becomes more susceptible to viral infections.

Although these statements are not supported by all doctors, it is impossible to deny the fact that with a stable emotional state a person gets sick less.

Other psychological problems

The founder of the self-help movement, Hay L., explains in his own way the reasons why people often get colds. He believes that a negative attitude towards the world around him is to blame. A person in a state of hidden aggression, in fear, becomes too susceptible to viruses due to the fact that the body is under constant stress.

And there are people who convince themselves that they have weak immunity and must definitely get sick during the season of exacerbation of seasonal epidemics.

How to prevent a cold?

If a person often suffers from colds, then the first thing he should do at the first symptoms of acute respiratory infections is to go to bed and drink more warm liquid. It is necessary to avoid drafts and prevent hypothermia.

It should be understood that there is no medicine that would allow you to recover. The healing process completely depends on the conditions that the sick person creates for his body. The more comfortable and favorable they are, the faster the fight against infections will occur and the risk of complications will decrease.

During the seasonal epidemic of colds, it is better to avoid crowded places, such as cinemas and concert halls. It's best to stay away from people who aren't covering their sneezes or coughs.

Vaccination does not give proper results. First, the vaccine only provides protection against the influenza virus. Secondly, the influenza virus is constantly mutating, and it is quite difficult to guess what it will be like in a particular season. Although people who do not neglect vaccination still suffer less from acute respiratory infections, no one is immune from colds.

People who have problems with the heart muscle and pulmonary system should be especially careful. They are the ones who most often experience serious complications after a cold.

What to do if you often get colds? Try not to touch your eyes and nose, or your face in general, when your hands are dirty. You don’t even need to wash your hands with soap, but simply rinse them under water; viruses do not die in this situation, but are washed off well. should I use it? disinfectants? Some experts claim that such remedies prevent you from getting sick, others say that they are ineffective. It should be understood that no product is completely capable of killing all bacteria.

A rather controversial statement is that if you breathe through your mouth near a sick person, then rotavirus infections will not penetrate into your mouth. healthy body. No research has been conducted on this matter, so this statement is only an assumption, although it is reliably known that it is in the nose that there are membranes that prevent bacteria from entering the body.

Other risks

To recover faster and not infect others, it is recommended to use paper napkins. Bacteria remain on the fabric for a long time, that is, a cloth scarf is a source of infection.

If you get colds very often, the reason may be a kiss. It plays, one might say, the last role in the development of a cold. Rotovirus infections that enter the mouth are likely to be swallowed and die in the stomach. However, adenoviruses can enter the body through a kiss, but no studies have been conducted on this either, so there is no reliable data on this matter.

What is better to refuse?

If you start getting colds often, it’s better to reconsider your lifestyle. Some everyday habits can greatly weaken your immune system. Tobacco smoke greatly irritates the cilia of the nasal cavity, which are a natural barrier to viruses.

ARI is a disease transmitted in a household way, in light of this, the habit of biting nails is a direct path to the appearance of a cold.

You should not go to work with a cold. It is difficult to adhere to this rule, but few people know that a person is contagious even before the first manifestations of cold symptoms for 24-48 hours. After the disease has manifested itself, the person is still a carrier of the virus for another 7 days.

Self-medication is the scourge of modern man. Especially when it comes to antibacterial agents. If a doctor once prescribed a medicine, this does not mean at all that you should drink it at the first symptoms of a cold. You should know that antibiotics reduce immunity.

Do you get colds very often? And remember how you dress in winter, whether you wear a hat. It is clear that a cold does not appear due to hypothermia, but cold is a provoking factor for the development of viruses, so the likelihood of developing an acute respiratory infection increases by more than 50%.

Parents should not make a “hothouse creature” out of their child, wrap him up tightly and be afraid to open the windows. As your baby ages, his immune system will be unable to resist colds.

Often the occurrence of acute respiratory infections becomes more frequent if a person is malnourished. This applies to everyone who is on a diet. The same can be said about lack of sleep; sleeping less than seven hours a day seriously increases the risk of frequent colds.

Preventive actions

If an adult often suffers from colds, then you should start by accustoming yourself to regular hand washing. If an epidemic occurs, then you can use a mask, but on the condition that it changes every 2 hours.

The following immunomodulators can be distinguished: medicines:

  • Ascorbic acid. Although there is a lot of controversy about the relationship between colds and vitamin C, it is still recommended to consume 500 mg daily.
  • Echinacea tincture is a fairly popular remedy all over the world.
  • Interferons. Drugs in this group are more effective at preventing the proliferation of viruses and are prophylactic, therefore they are also used for the treatment of acute respiratory infections.

Vitamins and minerals

Research has proven that vitamin A can reduce the risk of developing viruses in the body. Vitamin B2 also helps increase the body's resistance to infectious diseases. In moderate doses, vitamin B6 can increase the ability of lymphocytes to resist infections. From mineral supplements zinc can be isolated, which normalizes the functions of immune cells.

Finally

You can understand that there are problems with the immune system by the simplest signs: if fatigue and drowsiness appear, irritability and nervousness are constantly observed. Problems with the skin and gastrointestinal tract, exacerbation chronic pathologies- all these are symptoms of decreased immunity.

Try to give up bad habits, smoking and alcohol. Don't worry all the time and watch your diet.
